500mhz max stable (2.9ghz)... 600mhz max windows stable (3ghz).

Jim is @ 3.1ghz max stable and that's because he got a VERY lucky processor pick. Trust me when I tell you, you'll be lucky to hit 3+ghz on air (or water for that matter).

You just need to realize that Sandy's aren't consistently hitting 3ghz unless they're phased/cascaded. Some chips are better than others, Jim's for example at 3.1ghz on air is a purely orgasmic but I wouldn't hold your breath that yours will be able to touch that speed.

exactly, your idel tempsare usually around 47 degrees, thats a bit too high to be overclocking really..and please, please,please, dont touch anything to do with clock speeds on this new rig without asking someone on here first..it'll all be worth it in the end when youve got it running fast and stable

quick question, does ionicles board have the multipliers unlocked as standard?

just i remember a thread bout them being a bugger to tweak if they are locked

i know, its just its apparntly that on some dfi's depending on your luck, it can be a bugger unlocking multipliers for soem reason...it was probably some sort of bios thing

U can't just "unlock" the multiplier...

apparrantly, on the dfi series of boards, sometiems overclocking is disabled by the chipset i.e the fsb isnt allowed to rise above x level and likewise with other settings.....apparantly this was only a while ago, and due to a bad bios revision....im just a little worried that due to sods law his is going to have one of thse massive bugs...in any case i can just flash the bios

ITS ALL HERE?!, IT ALL WORKS?! wow....it does!...its amasing lol...now for the tecno stuf, i got the CPU core up to 1.6V and it is aparantly at 2568MHz...and 23*C....wheras my chipset is @ 52*C!!! but it all works!, the ram i stuck to 2.8V but i aint sure how to put it to 2-2-2-5 however i did figure out how to make it duel channel and that works too!, so all in all for about £800 it aint bad!
