Back from London :)

Got to talk about games/hardware all day, then play games on samples :D

It was all about desktop replacement notebooks.

Took a few sneaky pics on my phone (lame quality) it is sooooo sexy.

Specs - t7700, 2-4gb 667mhz ram, 17" high def widescreen, awesome 5 speakers built in (seriously - separate tweeters and subs) sli 8600gt's (bit crap) other bits and bobs... Gotta dash to the gym, will continue later.

Oh, and I got paid for the privelage, and they want me to be one of the seeded testers - so I get a £1400 lappy to play with... More to come...

tbh I'd never game on a lappy, never, never ever.

but as for a gaming rig I don't think the newest and most upto date is important, more good solid reliable, gamers, true gamers are always the last to ever upgrade.

Quite honestly I agree, I would get a rig for gaming, and a laptop for mobility. But at the same time, I understand the college kid budget (trust me I understand :P) and sometimes it's not even enough to afford a laptop only a rig, but other times it's enough to afford a nice laptop. So I can see why someone would get a nice laptop for gaming cause they couldn't have both.

I still prefer a nice rig for gaming :)

thinking more on this it all depends what market their aiming for

If say XMS asked me to spec up a gaming rig, it'd all be high end no nonsense stuff as I know thats what he'd expect otherwise he'd turn his nose up at it.

If the kid next door wanted me to do one it'd be different

If my Mum wanted one it'd be different again.

Most people base their judgement on what Dell (there I said it) are doing as they are in the public eye, I know there are people out there who know more but your are talking about 5% of the population, to most if it sounds good with all the right words in the advert and looks nice, they'll go for it, this is the 95% market share your after as the 5% would prolly build their own anyway.

They made it clear they weren't after 'our' business - high end gamers, more average gamers... They simply want our respect.

'Not for me, but I'd recommend it to my mate'

I think they had a point.

Also, I told them to ditch and modify an 8800gts to fit. Toshiba man said he would have a go...

Forgot to say, comes with HD dvd @ no extra cost, the case/screen is the highest standard gloss, crimson graphite.

I said I wouldn't play games on it.

He revealed a few details about another project - development of the cell cpu from the ps3 - their version was powering 40 different1080 high def images at once

Also, in their labs they have a mirror. Clothes are programmed in and be selected and 'worn'. If you move, the clothes move with you. It's some virtual shi@t to hit the shops in 2 years...
