IDNET Max broadband

Simon posyed this on ADSLguide today

We are pleased to let you know that our pricing for Max ADSL has now been

published on our website.

The mainstream service has been reduced in price to £24.99 (inc VAT) per

month with the same 30Gb inclusive data download allowance. Customers can

upgrade to Max free of charge. Downgrades are charged at £15 (inc VAT).

The Lite service has increased very slightly to £17.99 (inc VAT) per month

with the usual 2Gb included. This price is applicable to new customers

placing orders as from today. Existing customers can, if they wish, upgrade

to Max during the month of April at no additional cost. Those customers who

choose to upgrade will continue to pay the same monthly fee as they do now

until the anniversary of when they joined IDnet, at which time the monthly

fee will be adjusted to the prevailing tariff at that time.

Anyone wanting to upgrade please email

*Me jumps up and down*

My partner has sent an email... I don't know what he's said, but BT say we could get about 4mb download :D

From what the phonecall from IDNet said, I don't think so.

I wasn't actually on the phone though, my partner was, but they didn't say anything about paying £25. Only we've got to get more people on IDNet (next target- my sister-in-law :P).

It all depends on your isp raging-savage. As they are not getting charged by bt for the speed upgrades , some isps makes a new package out of it , some of them just pass the speed upgrades directly to end user without any charge , some of them charges admin fee etc.

ah i see,thanks tec:)

i hope tiscali do the right thing:yumyum:

my line is capable of 6-8mbps,would be a damn shame to miss it..

cheers.

Well lot of my friends have Bulldog which runs thru BT line of course and i have yet to see anyone connect close to 8mb , i am not sure if its the bt line or the bulldog but seems like bt line to me as their connections are around 5/6mbit , so in this max dsl we ll probably see connection speeds around 5/6mbit average.

I emailed Simon, and he said that if you want to upgrade to Max the £15 (if you're paying that) price can be kept till you've been on IDNet a year, then it will go up by £3 a month as they don't make money on the £15 deal. Sounds fair to me tbh.

sounds good to me!

Just remember that its impossible to get an actual 8mb. think most you could connect at is 7.1mb

/me goes to send an email :)

with the full speed of 8mg, am i correct in saying we should see nearly 1000kb download speed?

ifso, should be able to download a 700mb file in about 10-15 minutes
