IDNET Max broadband

I wonder what prospects MAX has for me. I can only get 1mb where i live, and i'm only a 5 min walk from the exchange :(

You want to post some line stats?

Not sure if these are the correct ones? Maybe i need to drop to the CLI on the router.

Upstream Noise Margin:

relative capacity occupation: 38%

noise margin upstream: 25.0 db

output power downstream: 20.0 dbm

attenuation upstream: 25.0 db

carrier load: number of bits per symbol(tone)

Downstream Noise Margin:

relative capacity occupation: 19%

noise margin downstream: 30.5 db

output power upstream: 0.0 dbm

attenuation downstream: 45.0 db

carrier load: number of bits per symbol(tone)

Presuming you're synching at 1152k, which is the BT standard for 1Mb connections, it estimates that you can get the maximum speed of 8192k :).

hmmm, dont think they are as it says you should recieve the full 8mb.

I can only get 1mb where I live, and BT says I should get 4mb on Max. However, I live 2 villages away from the exchange.

My friend (who I'm constantly pestering to come on IDNet and I think I'm finally winning) gets 2mb now and BT say he should get the full 8mb. He'll be doing that as he can't stand the thought of my internet being faster than his (he's only 1 village away from the exchange :p).

had an email earlier regarding adsl max upgrade, they said i had to choose a package, cheapest one was £24.99 a month. I was on the understanding that it would be the same price as it is now, then after a year it would go up £3

erm.....help!

We've had the same email, and I'm trying to get my partner to ring them up :P

Worst comes to the worst I'll email them back, but it was scary to receive.

ETA: My partner phoned Miriam and then put me on the phone (grrr) and we just had to send back an email saying we agreed to the terms and wanted to be on the Home Max, still at £15 a month for this year.

I'm glad it's sorted out :)

I'm being put onto home Max but I am gonna pay the extra £2.99 for the service (thats what our price rise will be): £17.99 for a 30gb Max service sounds fair to me :D

"You will recieve the Home Max service with 30gb download cap for £14.99 until the aniversary of your connection"

It was only a misunderstanding. my upgrade has now been submitted

ETA: Regrades are normally completed within 24 hours but may take up to 5 working days.

cant wait. download a movie in 12 minutes :P legal one ofcourse.

Have asked for a regrade here. IDnet have confirmed the need to bump the price to £17.99 on the anniversary of signup.

The newest broadband checker confirms my distance from the exchange - 760 meters ;)

/me rubs hands with glee at potential speed bump :D

Anyone got any idea how quickly IDnet can get these things through ?

**Edit - Doh! Just got this:

Your regrade request to Home Max has been accepted and will be submitted shortly. Regrades are normally completed within 24 hours but may take up to 5 working days.

Woohoo !
