HTPC Project

I had really good luck with my Hitachis. They have a program on their website called "Hitachi tools" it allows you to make the Hdds quieter. But to me I was happy the way they were. I was using 4 80 gig Hdds in Raid0.

I also like my WD Hdds.

Here is a link to a place that has some good info

Looking good! How much did that case set you back?

For cable management loos like yout best best would be tuck them under teh drive bays?

The case cost £140 from scan, pretty expensive. Think i'll go with the "tucking it under the drive cage". looks like there will be some room under the optical bay/single hdd one. Wont interfer with air flow either.

All excited about the stuff turning up :)

Sooooo..... after just about everything going wrong or being delayed on this project i read this on scans site..

Dear Scan Customers,

Due to severe weather conditions Citylink have advised us there may be a 1-2 day delay on all deliveries. We’d just like to ask for everyone’s extra patience over the next few days. Please be assured we’re doing everything we can to minimise delays as much as possible.

The Scan Team.

I know its not scans fault or city links, but i wont my motherboard :(

I go nutts:crazy: waiting for stuff too. My last order got shipped to the wrong place..

When its due to an act of God (weather, locusts, etc) I am a lot more forgiving (its when people mess up I go nutts)

ed me about so many times!

I hear loads of good stuff about them and i guess i'm just unlucky, but i so feel like crying, all i want is to have a working pc :(

Right, i have my ab9 installed and it's up and running, yah!! just installing drivers ect and will post some pics when it's done.

AHHHH, speedfan. couldnt remember the name. also had a whining noise in my bedroom. not sure what it is coming from. Hope it's not this.

Quick update:

Firstly i've updated the pics ect in the first post. Speedfan doesnt work with hard drives where there in raid. But i have taken a hard drive out that failed, so theres a bit more room between them now, so there running cooler.

The noise i was talking about in the above post happened to be the motherboard, so it had to go back again. This is the 3rd time!!!! Also i need to rma the hard drive. agh!

First, Beautiful job, Very elegant:)

Second sorry for your troubles:(

Third GET A FAN BLOWING ON THOSE HARD DRIVES..:nono:

When you stack them they create much more heat and since they are in a small space with low airflow it makes them even worse.
