Hello,

I am experiencing a poor experience while playing CSS with my computer. It lets me play the first 5-10 min. but then it starts lagging. I would like someone to teach me how to overclock my pc so i can see if that would be a solution to my problem.

Thank you,

Cristian Calo

Welcome to the forum mate.

Could you list your system specs here?

Might help figure what the problem is. So from what I understand CSS plays well until 5-10mins into gameplay and then it "lags"?

If so.. it must have something wrong. But not speed-wise.

Well you could a bit, if you've got good cooling on it.

I doubt your problem is too slow a CPU anyway.

Hmm, try typing in net_graph 3 into the console next time you play. When it gets laggy, see if, your ping increases, or you fps decreases, and what happens to your choke.

Have you tried using a decent config for CS:S. It can make all the difference, it let my 1ghz laptop play on most GG servers.

OK, i have a pretty good autoexec here, don't want to fill the page with more lines of crap, so have uploaded it to uni. The link is HERE and you need to rename it to autoexec.txt and go through it. its quite well documented. Decide on which options you want and copy and paste the contents of the file into your autoexec.cfg (in C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\YOUR NAME\counter-strike source\cstrike)

Also turn off all un needed processes.

Get more RAM.

Maybe a cooling mat for your lappy, some work quite well.

Will have a look for some useful links

the config is the file CS:S checks to see what options you want turned on/off. It is much more in depth than the option menu.

I've edited a bit of my last post. Try doing the net_graph thing first, that might narrow down your problem
