Well my OCZ VERTEX 2 just died.... and now im looking to buy a new SSD and my motherboard port are Sata II and wanted to know what better between those 2 ... and what different if u were to use them on a Sata III mobo?

those are the 2 i think have the best warranty and pretty nice performance atm

PS: My budget are somewhere near 300$~350$ so if you have another one good ssd to suggest feel free ^^ but i think those 2 with 10 years warranty are pretty usefull :)

Another OCZ failure, guess its kinda good toshiba has bought them... anyway i digress.

The larger an SSD the longer the life generally, if it has management software which im sure both do, what is the drive going to be used for as even 256Gb is kinda overkill for just OS but the 400Gb would be a good enough size to bung games on.

Both are Sata 3 rating so on Sata 2 you will be able to use most of the speed available by the socket on the Mobo too so speed i don't think is that comparable either.

Also both have a good warranty so thats the reliability of the unit taken care of too.
So it all comes down to whats going onto the drive.

I have a Samsung 840 pro and I'm more than happy with it:)

Hope this helps,

Never used a ssd software... what does that do? What can i do with it like what the advantage of that? (Yeah sad SSD died after 4~5 years with the pc open almost 24/24 7/7 lol..)
and if the software that come with the Samsung is a good thing i dont think SanDisk have a software that come with their SSD... ^^"

Nop i know people upgrade their pc parts most of the time every 2~4 years but i look forward for the 10 years warranty ^^
PS: If the Magician Software isnt usefull enough or doesnt give LOTS of advantage ill prob go with the SanDisk because ill get more storage on it (ill put games i play often on them)

The software is more something you wont manage its run on the SSD, some like the samsung come with magician, but i believe the ssd's also do their own management for file placement for longer life etc...
And the crucials seems just as good too as M&P suggested.
Ah so its a games drive. Then go for more storage. As i originally stated.

Not massively, just might help the drive run that little bit longer but 10 years is a long time in computer years,,, they age like dogs right?

True but i think ill keep the ssd for like 5~6 years ^^" i upgrade my gpu more often than other parts in my pc :P (NO MONEY NO OP UPGRADE)

thats fine as i said 10 years is a long time, might even have crystal drives or something like that in 10 years lol who knows ...
But id go for the biggest cap as you said it was for games.

Yea to be honest most parts lose some of their usefulness after 3 or 4 years. You end up needing more space or want more performance. I tend to feel that only the PSU is worth keeping for many years if you get a good quality one.

)

Go for the sandisk, not like your going to be able to utilise the extra speed from the 850pro anyways. There wont really be any difference for you and the MLC nand is fine.

My 2 OCZ vertex 4's are still going strong, never once had an issue
