Cooler is doing great, i have since completely redone my OC, learnt more doing it this way too.

BCLK: 167 x 27x multi

Memory multi: 12x

Uncore: 18x

Vcore: 1.356v

QPI/VTT: 1.335

CPU PLL: 1.70

4.5ghz OC

Hottest core got upto 65, but they hovered around 64 mostly. Its been stable like this for some time now. I'ts a much better way to OC than just upping the multi and vcore.

Been a while posting in this thread since there isn't a whole lot that i needed to do on the beast. There were a few things that bugged me after a while that i sorted out, here they are.

Today i bought a new PSU. Swapped out the Thermaltake 1350w. I wanted something fully modular, and then i found the Corsair AX1200 with its black modular cabling, so i bought it.

Installing it and completely re-doing the wiring was awesome, a lot less clutter and a much nicer look.

Last week I bought a Das Keyboard Ultimate Silent, replacing another Thermaltake product, a Challenger Pro that was a bastard to type on.

Its my first mechanical keyboard, with cherry browns, i love it, so much difference while typing and gaming its unbelievable.

I also bought a Xonar DX about a month ago, is nice.

What happened to the noctua fan you were using? are you not using that anymore?

No it did little good as a VGA cooler and didn't help my temperatures at all. The VGA duct that came with the case looked pretty crappy anyway, so I have the Noctua just sitting around doing nothing. It has little use as the smallest fan on my case (rear exhaust) is 140mm and the noctua is a 120mm.

The AX1200 is lovely so good choice on that 1. The rig also looks great speced and tidy. What gpu are you using now?

Thinking of getting a second mouse for Diablo 3 whenever it comes out. For some reason i don't see myself using the RAT for that game. I play plenty FPS with the RAT though.

I use a RAT7 Gotta say its amazing imho. Anyway I finally get why the magazine heatsink is there and in that shape, jelly muchly.

RAT 7 is great! Thinking of buying a second mouse for different games though, i play a lot of FPS with this mouse, thinking of a Steelseries Sensei for when Diablo3 comes out.

Update on this build - I went through 2 Corsair AX1200s in two days, they both got RMA'd for coil whine. 2 in a row. After the second one was installed it whined straight away. I RMA'd, got store credit and picked up a Seasonic XP-1000 Platinum, cheaper due to less wattage + better quality. Problem was fixed, just food for thought if anyone wants to buy an AX1200.

Although no black cables meant Bitfenix cable extentions.

That's a shame your PSU's were faulty. I've got an AX 850 and it hasn't missed a beat. Anyway, did you go to pccasegear?

Yep! I buy pretty much everything from PCCG.

Unfortunately it was a known issue, some of the units had problems, some didn't. Who would've thought i'd get 2 in a row.

I have bought some new things lately for the rig, i also received a nice camera for my bday recently, just need to learn to get some good photos as its leaning toward enthusiast grade.

Swan speakers and a 10" woofer under the desk + Steelseries Sensei (for non FPS games, thats what the RAT is for)

And just to have some decent photos of the rig itself with the new camera, i could've done better in daylight but maybe on the weekend.
