Haf X Assassin.

Here we go, although this screenshot shows the max temp of 65, that was running small FFTs for an hour, didn't reset the min/max, and then i ran large FFTs for about 50 minutes. It sat stable on 62-63 most of the time.

The Havik looks like it's a pretty good cooler then, if it can handle a 990X @ 4.4ghz 1.3v then I doubt it will have a problem keeping anything else cool.

Yeah I am quite happy so far with it. Picked up some MX-4 today, excited to see the difference over a generic thermal paste and this one.

After that will do a retest, then bring it up to 4.53.

I haven't installed photoshop on this comp yet, so its my full screen dump, 30 mins of small FFTs and thats my temp with MX-4 now. Quite a difference.

Going to see how 4.53 or even 4.6 goes now.

Think it is fair to say Noctua has some serious competiton now. Now on my way to purchase this. Thanks for all of the stress test results mate.

Oh and thanks to "ruthless" for giving me a reason to pin my hopes on a single tower unit. Maybe now he'll realise that not every review is biased.

not all reviews are biased... most are

I think i made a good move with this cooler.

Ok so i started playing some Metro 2033 today, after about 30 minutes i got BSOD so obviously the 4.53ghz wasn't stable. I have upped the voltage and doing some tests now, ofcourse this has brought up the temps i'm getting in HW monitor, but even at 1.35v set in bios the max temp im getting is 62 and that was for a second and its been sitting at 60 or less for the rest of the time i have been doing the Prime work.

I must say that the NZXT cooler is doing a really good job of keeping your CPU cool,

almost makes you think there is something wrong with your temp monitors.. hahaha

And a very nice OC by the way

I might tackle 4.66Ghz this week. I'm guessing it will run at 65-70c with the Vcore increase.

I have multi-threading disabled, what would happen if it was enabled again at this OC, currently 4.53.

The cooler is plugged into the motherboard, does this mean its running at 100% constantly, its very quiet.

With HT enabled it would get alot warmer. Usually you can set the cpu fans in 3 different modes in the bios. Maybe its in silent mode now?

I have been a little busy this weekend, aside from a road trip, i managed to change the LEDs on the front Megaflow fan from red to green, needed to borrow a soldering iron, and some heat shrink made it a neat looking install.

I also bought a noctua fan to use as a VGA cooler, i needed to move the nvidia card to the second PCI-E 16x slot so i could use the HafX VGA fan tunnel thing.

I'm curious, did that VGA tunnel thing help ur temps at all? Because I would think that since that card has fans blowing 'up' towards it's PCB, the air would come out AWAY from the card and that extra fan would just be pushing against that flow (unless ur using it to pull air away from the card)

I have a haf x and I am just asking because the way I was looking at my own case I didn't think buying that extra fan would help as I didnt want to change the front fan to exhaust.

I'll be honest i don't think its doing much. Although the 3 fans on my graphics card aren't running very fast at all either, only about 40%.

I am playing Metro 2033 at the moment running everything at max, 1080p res and dx11 features all on, the card is running about 70 degrees and i dont really hear the fans speeding up at all.

I have a bottom intake fan pushing air towards the right side of the GPU (from my perspective), I got a couple degrees lower temps doing that, but probably some dust. But I got more than enough compressed air to deal with that

I'm really not sure how the airflow is going where the 580 is placed, i have the side 200mm megaflow blowing air, then the front 230mm fan blowing air on it, now i have the 3 windforce fan blowing upwards, plus now the Noctua coming from the same direction as the front 230mm.

Is this air coming from too many places to take a negative effect maybe??

How is your cooler holding up mate?

Bought one myself and i am mightily impressed.

Running my Phenom 955 @ 4.2ghz with 55.c which isnt bad as it is 23.c outside lol
