Haf X Assassin.

my arse is the phantom good, the cable extensions arent brilliant... ive used them... the vulcan meh maybe its decent and the strips are good so thats about 3 decent products in the last 1.5 year

Each to their own lol I still reckon they will surprise us with a decent case. Cant get over how shocking the Hush 2 was.

p.s Havik done some reseacrh on the Havik 140mm and it is meant to be pretty decent, not as good as nh-d14 but dont think any air cooler will come close to that yet. It is along the lines of Dark Rock Pro and Silver arrow

how can a single tower come close to them... most reviews are bull shit nowadays tbh i saw someone putting a thermaltake frio up with a D14... pluuuuuuus they're both dual tower coolers and the havik goes up with them... yeah i doubt it

I will run some tests tonight with this cooler. Didn't buy it hoping it would be as good as a D14, i doubt it would be.

Sounds like you have a vendetta with NZXT. Here are a few i have found

http://techgage.com/article/nzxt_havik_140_cpu_cooler_review/2

http://www.overclockersclub.com/reviews/nzxt_havik140/4.htm

Hope these clear things up for you. Give the company a chance, yes they have made some appalling components and accessories int he past but so have many other companies. Look at the v8 and v10, Corsair hydro series, Antec khuler series and and cases.

The reviews are there, they're many more like them too. So unless nzxt have bribed half of the reviewing sites known on the web i think it is clear that it should be a good cooler. Starting to think you are just another nh-d14 fanboy who will troll any cooler remotely close in performance. One way to settle this TTL needs to get his hands on it lol

seriously i aint a fan boy of anyone or anything... i dont even have the D14 but i know it is the best air cooler (not including the sealed loops) on the planet by a couple of miles it just doesnt make sense that a company release their first cooler and its a single tower and its up there with the best

It says on your rig spec that your cooler is an nh-d14. If your basis for this not being good enough to beat the nh-d14 due to it being a single tower then shouldn't the scythe susanoo be the best air cooler around?

Hey guys, i did two 30 minute tests on prime 95 on small FFTs, first test on standard clock, second test i pressed my turbo button which raised the clock to 3.78, im a bit green to overclocking so i didn't try anything in the BIOS.

First pic is at idle (left) and under load with prime95 (right) I forgot to reset the min/max however for the prime test on this one

Here is the results but with the slightly raised clock speed which was about 3.787ghz.

Let me know what else to do, i dont really want to leave my computer for 6 hours as i want to play some video games right now haha.

They are some good temps considering it is a 990x.

If you're brave try a 200 x 20 base clock @ 1.35v. Glad to see you have got the building bug back.

So i bumped the multiplier to 30. Running at 4ghz now. Idle seems good, 31 max so far. I will run prime a bit later to see how she goes.

That is very cool indeed, maybe all of the reviews were right, if so you have got yourself a great cooler for nearly half the price of the noctua. May buy it myself now knowing how good it is. Good luck with it all mate.

This is only with 40 minutes of prime i tested, no 6 hour long test or anything, max temp i got was 61 with small FFT.

Its running comfortably at 4.4 at the moment. Been doing a lot of reading still and playing around with the BIOS and even starting from scratch a couple of times. Now i am more comfortable doing things.

Tomorrow i should see 4.53ghz. Temps are good on all the Stress tests i've done. And a bit of stupidity on my behalf the second fan on the Havik was facing inwards not outwards, so the temps are a little better yet again now that i fixed that haha.

I think my next thing to do is actually buy some good thermal compound, using the NZXT one which looks pretty generic.

Haha think everybody has done that before, i know i have. I recommed Noctuas thermal paste. Think it is called nt-1. Used to use mx-3 or as5 quite a lot. I am interested in the new evga thermal paste that has come out. But cannot see it in any retailers.

4.4 is a really nice clock on air. I think my 950 runs too hot for anything over 4.2 with my D14 :/ Gonna reseat it soon too see if I failed when I installed it lol.

Could you do a 30min prime and screenshot the HWMonitor and CPU-z like you did before? Interested in the temps with the Havik on 4.4
