Geeks Christmas

I don't know anything about G-Sync, but I'm guessing it's a better version of V-Sync that stops screen tearing?

From what I heard on the Linus Nvidia stream. It is a method of V-Sync in which the refresh rate on the screen is pretty much always equal to the FPS of what your playing. Apparently as a result you end up with a buttery smooth image 100% of the time and I believe they even went to say that slightly lower frame rates can feel smoother than they would have in the past i.e I play BF3 on high instead of ultra even though I arguably could because I don't like drops to 30 and below. Allegedly with the G-Sync this wouldn't be so much of an issue

Ahh I see, I haven't got even V-Sync on my games, I should try it really and see how much of a fps hit BF4 will take.

Having got the cash but I would love to get my hands on a 4K monitor to complement my new 780Ti's.

I still think though that the 4K monitors are overpriced so I am not going to buy one yet.

it's not a "hit" it just won't go any faster than your screen refresh rate since anything more is considered wasted. I personally don't like V-Sync. Adaptive V-Sync on the nvidia cards is a step better but I think G-Sync is the only one I would actually use

I'm gonna get myself a little android tv dongle thing to smart up my current led..

Root and xbmc it..

Probably ordering some parts for a new rig ^_^

EDIT: Wait, no. I will probably get an 128gb FS SSD for my laptop for Windows and such. Also ordering an HDD Caddy to replace the OD with the HDD which is currently in there.

don't use vsync in any fps, it causes mouse lag. vsync looks nice but it goes along with some hefty downsides, i'd only use it for single player games like RPGs which don't require accuracy.

my two front teeth..

but in all seriousness, i would love a new case, and im quite liking the coolermaster n200. ive had this ol rust bucket about 5years now, considering it was a real cheapy, the only thing wrong with it.. is everything, but boy was it made well. :(

its so much easier to con the other half that oh dear my graphics card is burning, i think i need a new one, or my screen is flickering, can you see it.. i need a new one, but with a case, unless it starts falling apart theres not much i can really say about it to warrant spending money on a new one :)

Unless you seriously mod the case you can't water cool in a 600T either so either way I'm up for a new case also the cards aren't reference so the chances are they cannot be water cooled anyway

I was referring to the switch 810 lol:p

I'm definitely holding out for G-Sync before I even consider a monitor upgrade. The only annoying thing about it is that you can only experience it in person and let's be honest there are very very few bricks and mortar stores in the UK that carry this kind of hardware

And the fact i would need a Nvidia GPU. Unless Nvidia is king enough to allow AMD cards to work with the new tech as well.. sure AMD would have to spend quite a fortune for that though.

Probably another new wardrobe for me now actually.

Yet another load of jeans that don't fit. I usually wear joggers/hoddies so never wear my jeans much so tried them on this weekend, no way will I ever get into them again. Along with training again and just naturally growing, my 32" waist is no more, and my legs are no longer what they were, so if anyone wants Naked & Famous and Armani jeans then let me know!

That's the last time I spend a lot on jeans.
