Galaxy s3 need help

Hey guys

So today my phone (Samsung Galaxy s3, uk version) decided to not work properly. The problem is when I am on a call either sending or receiving the other person cannot hear me talking.

The weird thing is if I go to the voice recorder app it works fine. I have tried a few things and looked around but found no help.

My phone is on android version 4.1.2

Anyone any ideas on how to fix this?

This might sound like a stupid question, but do you have any bars when you go into the call? I ask because I have Boost Mobile (I think they're US only so you might not know who they are lol) and when I go to answer or make a call my phone like drops out of 3G completely for some unknown reason, and it takes a while for either the ringing sound to start (making a call), or the person on the other end to hear me (receiving a call). I'm looking into changing to either Verizon or Sprint in the near future because I want a new phone and Boost doesn't have that many (if any at all) current-gen (4.0 and up) Android smartphones.

Ya I have almost full bars. I have never had any issues with this phone since I got it and it was working fine yesterday. It literally just stopped working.

Yes to the speaker no to the carrier. I do not have another sim that will fit. It is a micro sim.

I got it to work.

Turns out the tiny little hole for the mic was clogged. For some reason I thought the mic was around the usb port.
