Forum presentation images guidelines?

Hey guys,

I am not entirely sure if this is the correct place for this thread, please then move to the correct place for it.

I have 2 questions though, regarding what guidelines OC3D has regarding avatars and signatures here?... in other words, avatars are 100x100 as far as I'm concerned, but what rules do you have regarding those? (nudity etc)

And regarding the signatures?, what dimensions are set on this forum, is allowed/how big is the signature allowed to be?... and same here, what rules? (nudity, racism etc).

Thanks!

Regards,
Chrazey

As for avatar. Nothing overly sexual, discriminatory, etc. Also no .gifs. SuB HATES them

Thank you for the reply!

Since I am quite picky when it comes to these stuff and highly respect a forums rules, I'd like as much "down into detail" as possible here.
When you say "nothing overly sexual", what does that mean then really?, showing some cleavage, is that deemed okay or is that crossing the line?...

And no gifs?... come on, not even a little?... like just a border around the image, and not the entire image being an moving object lol.

It's probably best to not use anything that is deemed "sexy"

For example PaulStung has a blinking eye in his avatar. Thats fine, because its subtle and doesnt atteact attention.

Yeah pretty much. There are not really any solid rules, but try to keep it clean. Remember, there are kids on here ;)

Haha okay fair enough... so having a hot girls face as an avatar is a no go then, since she's too hot :p
Well maybe they should close their eyes then ey? :p .... just joking mate :)

I dont think anyone would really complain about a hot girl, but dont go posting something you wouldn't wear on a shirt in public :p

I'd wear a hot girl on my shirt in public any day mate :D ... but yeah, I get you and no worries :)

Cheers though MadShadow! :)

Personally i like the idea of having no avatars and text only signatures best. Fits in with the simple style of the forum and puts focus on the posts instead of flashy images. Using a hot girl as an avatar is just trashy.

Everyone has their own taste and opinion mate, nothing wrong with that at all and I fully respect that, I see what you mean.

At the end of the day, it's down to the individual user to use whatever they like or find that they want to present themselves with (within the margin of usage/rules/appropriation of course).

All I'm saying here, with a hot girl etc, is just examples to see where the lines is being crossed in terms of what is okay to use and show/present in the form of an avatar and signature.

Yeah of course dude, did I write in such a way that it's not readable or what?...

You asked what the guidelines were and I'm responding. Not sure what you're referring to.

SPS was talking about readability in the sense of the site should have a simple structure focused on the text. Bling and half naked women everywhere distract and are horrible to look at. Wasn't about the way you write.

Ohh okay, I'm sorry for making this all confusing... but basically SeekaX below pretty much explained it.

Now I understand, thanks guys!
