Forgot to renew my old domain name and a porn website has taken it. All my old images are broken and worst of all its not even a good site.

A guys at work has this 19 year old son who I've worked with from time to time, he in to gaming and told me he wants to build a new system at some point (this was 6 months ago).
So, I told him to let his dad know when he's ready and I'll go through his budget, choose the best parts and build it, for free... I proceeded to show him a couple of systems I've built plus my own.

He pays someone £100 to choose the parts and build it (£1000 budget, just the rig).
Guy got him a crappy PSU as it didn't come with cables for a GPU.
Paid another guy £50+vat to come and fix it/get his EVGA 770 hooked up.
All this guy said was, you're missing a 8-8pin and 8-6pin. Give me a call when you have purchased the necessary cables and I'll come and get your GPU powered (obviously another £50+vat).
The guy who originally built it made him BUY the wrong windows also...

Now after all this, he wants my help :huh:

Some people just wan... I don't need to finish that.

You must have properly let it expire dude (like 3 months way past it's sell by) you should have a grace period to retain the thing back, what the hell was the domain for it to be picked up by a porn site?

oooo I know that pain, I've just about managed to get my buddy to stick to what I've said (it's been a frickin struggle I'll tell ya), he's bringing it all round this weekend to get it built. It'l be either great, or a nightmare! we'll see!

this happened to me too, but at that point, the free part will no longer be available imo, if he was willing to pay the other guy, he should be willing to pay me(in this case you) aswell.

Apparently no one was in to deliver my package. ;-;

They were just down the garden, ffs. No toys for me this weekend.

You don't get deliveries on saturdays?

I chose next day delivery, which in scan terms doesn't include Saturdays :(.

I'm lucky it was DPD delivering as they actually try to deliver, they take photographic evidence that they tried and they actually handle packages properly. Still, thank f**k its only psu, cables and some lighting.

So... I just picked this guys half built rig and parts up. Here is the list.

Corsair C70.
MSI B85-G41
Not sure on CPU, not took the STOCK COOLER off yet.
Corsair Vengeance 2x4gb 1600mhz.
EVGA GTX 770 4GB Classified.
1TB Seagate Barracuda.
No SSD.
Finally the PSU... Corsair CX430.

His words was "do what is NEEDED" ring me if you want to recommend something that could do with changing, but change what is needed to get it working and bill me.

The PSU needs to go right? I was thinking 600W.

RM 550 should be a good un' . Knowing S***y system builders I bet it has an i7. I reckon an rm 550 and a cheap cooler, like the hyper 212 evo should mostly save that rig.

I'll get him a new PSU then. I was going to go with the CX600M for £58 but I'll recommend the RM550 and see what he says.

I'll majorly advise the cooler change, I used to use the Hyper212 myself so I'll recommended that at bottom level but personally recommend him the H105.

If he going to be overclocking? If not, why get the h105?

hmrc took a grand extra than they were due for tax return because my recalculation from the acc took too long. yay.

Geez! That sucks hairy balls, I do all my own accounts and returns. I do it online too so I don't run out of time as we have from Apr 5th until the end of Jan to submit them.

Hah, didn't mean to say H105, that's because I'm looking at one myself. I meant the H75 at £60, the hyper212 is out of stock locally and he wants the computer back for Saturday night :/

Ah, in that case, it makes more sense. Still a bit pricey, if he is not OCing
