I've had alot of success with the hyper 212 evo.

IF you can't get one, get a artic freezer 7 pro. It can also support mild OCs so its more then capable.

Yeah the 212 evo is the only air cooler I used and that was on my 2500k, kept it cool enough to run 4.6GHz 24/7. H100i let me run 4.8GHz 24/7 and run a few 5.2 - 5.3 benchmarks.

Anyway, his went with the RM550 and the H75.
Didn't bite on an SSD. I recommended he look them up. 20 second boot times as opposed to 60 seconds and all that, but he wasn't having it.

RM 550 should be a good un' . Knowing S***y system builders I bet it has an i7. I reckon an rm 550 and a cheap cooler, like the hyper 212 evo should mostly save that rig.

In process now, has a 4670(non K), before I opened it and knew what was inside I recommended an SSD, he said he doesn't even know what an SSD is. Turns out to have a 250GB Samsung 840.

Actually the rest of the rig seems to not be that terrible of a choice.

Just that motherboard, PSU and stock cooler, oh an the no SSD (kind of) until now ^_^

I so wish I took a picture before I took it all apart, cables... Cables everywhere!

I had to stand by and watch someone get conned into a £30 hdmi cable by a Maplin employee on Sunday.

I almost cried :(

He genuinely bullshitted the guy into buying a more expensive cable because the 'quality would be better'

IT'S DIGITAL YOU ******** PIECE OF SCUM STOP CONNING PEOPLE.

So glad I understand tech enough to not be conned by these jokers. It was disgusting.

Oh dear! I shot down a Techguy in PCWorld while buying a external HDD, with one simple comment, I gave him the look and said "Don't even bother".. Sad sales techniques employed by these highway robbers is rediculous.

It makes me furious, absolutely furious. 100% daylight robbery and false advertising. The guy even said "So with the cheaper cable, I'll lose quality" and the sales guy said yes. 100% bullshit.

I've had an arguement with a PCWorld employee in the past regarding why iMacs Macbook Pro's get/are generally hot...

They're effectively heatsinks, the whole chassis is designed this way, he denied it saying they don't get hot... I almost punched him. It's like have you PUT YOUR HAND ON ONE OF THOSE THINGS. it's HOT you moron!

The staff at PCWorld and Maplins avoid me these days as it simply won't work, but that also means when ever a family member or friends needs anything I end up shopping with them for security.

Between this and cold callers they really rattle my can.

PCWorld employees are quite annoying, One tried to tell me I needed to buy a DVD drive to install Windows and had never heard of the USB method even after I explained how it worked and how simple it is to do... :cussing:

You should go in there and act dumb and ask for PC advice.

Or Ask something simple like "I have 16GB of ram but it only shows 4GB"

Or change the administration privileges on the demo models then set Marque screen savers with your own message and change the password. ;)

Urgh.

I genuinely think its only my local maplins that has all the non con salesmen in it. When I was in there picking up a case fan for work I saw one of the salespeople talk a guy out of buying one of those nasty cougar 800w non rated psus and instead get a cheaper cx600m.

I have the worse cough and cold in the world, I feel so bunged up ;-;.

Or do that, I did something similar in secondary school but with BIOS, setting a password you had to enter before the system would boot.

I wanted to do something on the library PC, I think it was a 486 DX 2 66mhz at the time but the kids on it before me wouldn't get off it so when I finally went on there and did what I needed to do. I put a password on it.

Rather than asking me what the password was, they paid someone to remove it.
