I was always “lucky” in that sense. Dad died when I was 7 but we did get the house paid off. So whilst it was always a struggle we knew wed always have a roof over our heads

It should be a basic human right. Landlords should not exist.

I completely agree, While I'm sure there are human landlords somewhere out there, The vast majority are inhuman and such power over peoples lives is immoral.

I've had a horrific 24 hours... Fell down the stairs last Thursday. Really hurt my tailbone. Thankfully, that was it. It wasn't much better the next few days, but it was my Dad's 65th birthday, so I travelled to see him over the weekend. My wife was able to drive us.

Yesterday, I contacted my GP, who recommended phoning minor injuries. Minor injuries said to go to A&E, as it was a lower back injury. Both said I needed an X-ray.

Got to A&E at 4 PM. Got out at 4 AM. Yes, I was in there for 12 hours. How long was I with the Dr? 5 minutes. Said I didn't need an X-ray and that it would heal itself, and gave me some painkillers. Just basic painkillers and a page with some basic back stretches. What's worse is that 1.5 hours in, I was triaged and was told I would need an X-ray. So three times I was recommended an X-ray. If I knew that I was just going to be told to just carry on and have some painkillers, I wouldn't have gone.

So that was me, in a waiting room for 12 hours, where I couldn't comfortably stand or sit during that time. Today, I am in more pain because of having to wait there for that long in those conditions. When I requested a painkiller at midnight, I was told that I would be given one. Didn't get one.

Long story short, I am in more pain now.

Sorry to hear that bud but your NHS experience mirrors my own and many others, It's crap. Last time I went there was a 94 year old woman with a severe head wound who was waiting over 40 hours, Myself and about 20 others demanded a doctor see her now and they seemed annoyed as they now had to actually work.

The NHS needs sorting out, It's completely broken.

Told quite a few family members this morning where to go and never contact me again.

My Grandads funeral and wake were on Monday and they went as smoothly as they could, no family fighting but some snarky comments were made towards me, just let them slide of my shoulders as those making the comments have not been around for the last 5 years whilst I have been looking after him daily and I wasn't allowing it to spoil the day.

Been dealing with all his accounts and nearly all have been fine but the housing association that my grandad rented his house from for over 50 years are causing me a load of grief, refusing to allow family or myself to take over the tenancy because no one lived with him for the last 12 months despite them not allowing anyone to, and going against their own policy where they say you don't need to have lived with the former tenant in some cases, and then telling me they are going to charge me rent and fees etc whilst we remove everything from the house.

Then they told me if I want to I can look to try and buy the house, £180k which I just had to laugh at, because where in the living hell that is my life at the moment am I supposed to pull that money from being unemployed (thanks labour).

Certain family members I found out this morning are, making out like I stopped him from leaving them more money because they think he had more money than I said he did, I just sent a very angry message to them all.

So at the moment I still cannot just take a moment for myself as between family and companies, I am just getting bombarded from all angles and now the DWP are saying because I received his life insurance and funds from his bank, even though they were only in my bank for less than a day, I will probably lose my Universal Credit payment for a month or more.

Again just fully fed up!

Sorry you're going through all that bud, I sort of know in part what you're going through but it's no suirprise as the UK has largely become anti human especially when it comes to finding somewhere to live.
