The guy at the desk says 2 him there all the same Sir just a biffrent colour.

the guy was looking all confused about this and was convinced that the white,

p.s.u. lead was biffrent comperd 2 the black one.

i was looking in my local computer shop for some think last mouth.

I personally don't think so, half of my mates seem clueless about the technological sides of computers, but definitely have the mental capability to challenge themselves with the task of building a computer or troubleshooting one, without the knowledge of common procedure.

Perhaps I'm yet to meet the majority of the worlds' morons, lets wait and see. :p

live in denton, work in reddish...thank feck the congestion charge didnt get in...im only 600yards from the m60....would of cost me £25 a week to get in and out of work :D

My parents are really happy also about the congestion charge vote getting passed, it would've cost my mum and dad in excess of £40 a week, just to go too and from work.

I'm still surprised only 80% voted no. Who in the right mind would vote to pay more money in the middle of a widespread financial crisis? Sure passes me.

your not realising that people are idiots hence this thread :D ... put it this way if it was caveman times 98% of the worlds populations would of either had a horrifically fatal accident or been eaten by another animal..or a combination of the 2 :D ... a persson can be intelligent but people are morons :D

why thank you...the spelling mistake adds to my idiocy :D and its not my quote..its a kevin smith quote i cant remember which film its from but its one of the following clerks/clerks II/dogma/chasing amy...if you aint seen any of them just watch clerks II it will benefit your life...theres not many films that mock people in wheelchairs in such a humerous way

Just this minute...I think some people are continuing the drinking 24/7..(and the guy was scottish which just added to it)

Customer = "Hi do you sell PC's"

Me = "Unfortunately not, we can build you a PC but its mainly high end and enthusiast barebones we do, as the initial build cost is £125"

Customer = "ahhh I see.....well then do you sell towers then"

Me = "Not quite sure what you mean, do you mean a case?"

Customer = "Yeah, but it needs to have an eeeifernet port on the back"

Me = "Our cases come with nothing inside them, the ethernet port is on the motherboard"

Customer = "Ahhhh I seeeee, So do you sell motherboards with ethernet ports then"

Me = "Yes all current motherboards generally do come with ethernet ports"

Customer = "Can I have one of those then, how much are they"

Me = "Errrr....a motherboard"

Customer = "Yes"

Me = "I'm sorry but I think you dont understand me, the ethernet port is on the motherboard, the motherboard is what connects all the other things in the PC like ram your cpu and harddrives together, its not something you can just slot in and chances are if you haven't got an ethernet port on your existing computer then chances are you would be better off going to a high street shop and purchasing a new computer"

Customer = "I havent got an ethernet port as I haven't got a PC, thats why I was asking if you sold PC's....>"

Me = click....phone down

Sorry my patience is wearing thin...but the guy sounded like he'd been sold broadband thinking it was some kind of free mystical voyage to the centre of the earth...

Okay, these are not actually mine, a guy at the local computer store told me those:

1. A guy comes back with his recently purchased computer: 'it doesn't work anymore'. After picking up the case there are strange sounds coming out of it, sounds like something is moving in there.

Once opening the case he finds a lot of coins in there. Turns out there was a small opening in the top of the case that was just big enough to put a coin through. The customer decided the use the case as a safe, until the coins shorted out his motherboard...

2. Customer returns his laptop. Upon opening the laptop he finds a completely molten keyboard, literally all keys were molten solid. "What did you do with it?" - "I spilled coffee over it, so I heated it with a hair dryer to fasten up the drying process". Of course, like the moron he was, the set the hairdryer too high and melted his keyboard...

I recently went round to my Aunt and Uncle's in Oxford. They wanted to be able to rip DVDs onto the ipod etc. Obviously this was something quite easy to do and they should be able to cope with it.

So after a little while of downloading odds and ends and freeing up some space on the hard disk, a bit of wierd stuff started to happen. In fact it looked very much like a clickme trojan.

But how was this possible, they had virus protection (twice) with a lifetime of updates. After I noticed the databases were about a year out of date, I ran a scan...16 trojans picked up. When I told them this, my Aunt said "oh good...what is a trojan?"

The computer is now running, with updates configured.

Is this normal, to have people that don't ever run scans, and who don't check before downloading?

That seems more sad then funny.

Incapable of understanding what viruses are makes the world feel even more dumber.

Most of these I agree with, but laughing at an older couple for not knowing about viruses doesn't really seem fair! They've lived most of their life without using computers much, and how would they learn about viruses and Trojans? I guess their nephew would have been a good starting place...

They aren't "an older couple, they are early 40s, and had been warned by some colleagues about the fact they weren't running virus protection or updates.
