Crysis sing player demo

Interesting.

This could be the sort of driverset release that seperates the dev of G92 bias from the previous generation.

Think i downloaded and installed these drivers last night...

Haven't played since though... Am gonna wait for my GT as my GTS320 doesn't quite cut the mustard!

edit: Yep just checked and they are the ones... Didn't even notice the date on them.. Oops

its amazin i can see that looks like low settings buts thats what farcry looked like back in the day, i tried that forcing very high settings thing in xp and its simply stunning! almost breathtakingly different!

new drive comes 2moro!! so i'll be vista'ing all the way to the bank!

I haven't even been able to dl the demo :( I'm hardwiring my pc to the net tonight, everyone else can take a long walk off a short cliff!

So how do you force high settings? Is it just in the sandbox?

Edit: I'm seriously considering building a monster rig when all the new hardware hits. Buy the best once at the start when it comes out then leave it alone for a year... As I have my monitor etc that would still be £2K

Might be like with GRAW games, some settings u can`t change in the ingame-options, but u can directly change the ini/cfg.

Like if it detects less than 512m gfx card, it`ll hide top textures from the select thingy.

So far I'm enjoying this demo, it plays well on my low-tech rig with no glitches in the gameplay.

I let Crysis do the settings and it configures 800 x 600 resolution with everything on low.

I changed that to ... Textures / Shaders / Game Effects / Post Processing set to medium with everything

else on low and it works very well, but of course if you want to play this game as the developers intended,

you'll need a high-end gaming card to reap the benefits of the amazing graphics.

AMD 64 3200+

Asus A8V-VM SE

1 GB Corsair XMS PC3200

XFX Fatal1ty 7600GT

WIN XP-SP2

no the very high settings are applied to the game, however the editor also picks them up so you can "jump in" (ctrl+g) onto either the mp beta map or the sp map with all the very high settings :D its just stunning!!

you cannot put the very high settings on either in the game or the editor on xp as far as i know but most can be forced on with the cfg, however i did noticed some what i'd call "missing" effects, like the laser pointer dot is a square, and the firefly thingies are just green translucent polygons that fly around (kinda funny)

but they're a small loss for the gain in detail :)

its a cfg file edit there was a link in here somewhere its very easy to do, if you can't figure it out i'll post up the edited files but they are absolutely all set to highest settings lol. the volumetric shadows are beautiful!!

Frankly to play Crysis at anything near a decent resolution you'll need a next gen single card setup, or a couple of 8800 U's in SLI

To force Very High.. Got to Crysis SP Demo\Game\Config.

Open "HighSpec.cfg" in notepad and change the 3 to a 4. ;)

Should force Very high. To my eye there isn't much difference. But at least now you can check it out.

Have fun. :D

i was suprised at how well very high ran tbh it didn't seem too much more taxing than high but looked leagues better

The most i have run it on is high and it looks pretty real. I havent bothered to try very high but from the screen shots ive seen the game looks very real. I mean this game is jsut down right amazing.
