Chasing Dreams

Also fyi: your idea of using the Scythe Himuro (which you stole from someone else) is now going to be stolen by me for my rig... been looking EVERYWHERE for something that was understated enough yet functional for mounting my storage drive elsewhere in my rig... this'll do pig... this'll do.

Ok, lol, brilliant :p I got it from million-dollar-pc.com ^^ works fine, but it may have to go in the near future when I apply an idea that I'm having with some acrylic... *spoiler* :D

By the way: What's the best or easiest way to cut acrylic? I used my good friend Google. But an absolute certain answer does not seem to exists... Accept for using professional machinery which I don't have acces to.

Just bought two of these bad boys from someone for peanuts!

Corsair SP120's. They're high performance ones, but they'll be attached to the fancontroller so that's no problem at all (noise wise)

A Phobya G Changer 240 rad and an alphacool D5 pump are on their way too! Then I can put those in and measure a couple of things :) some more modding to the case will take place tomorrow, so stay tuned for updates ;p

if you only want to do straight cuts a cutter is the cheapest/easiest/cleanest way to do.
if u want to do more, then a jigsaw (preferably a variable speed one) is the best.
for circular cuts u can use a hole-saw. easy and fast way to do .u'll need a powerful drill.

laser-cutting can do all the above and much more

Thanks Rusty! What kind of blade is preferred for acrylic? It's 3mm thick btw.

The first victim :p

So much for those rivets. The radgrill can now be attached flat to the front.

A bit of thinking about what to do with the top...

dsc05226.jpg

And I couldn't resist making the first cuts :p

More tomorrow!

And the top is done! (I thought, but forgot about the plastic bits :p)

The plastic bit that has to go:

Done.

Then the plastic from the top grill has to be cut in order to fit fans up top.
Just unclip these things:

Cut, done.

This is how it's supposed to go in the front:

And the pump: Alphacool D5

I'm on the lookout for more second hand watercooling material.
Alphacool ST30 all copper 360 rad, bitpower/ek black compression fittings or regular barbs, universal gpu block, ...

In the shadows of FredEx's great upgraded competition prize (big congrats to everyone involved!), I've got an update for you guys :D

I managed to get the 240 rad in the front! Hell yeah.
Maybe it doesn't look thát great, but with the front bezel on, it's pretty ok. I think I'm going to be quite proud of this when it's finished.

Test fitting motherboard again, to get an idea of what to do with the grommets among other things...

My 5770's are sold. So something new has to come. Still debating on what to get :p thinking a GTX 660Ti. With a full blown pcb preferably like the Asus ones. Maybe put a nice backplate on it... Stay tuned :p

I'm really liking it dude! I love black and white builds! And yours is amazing!
Are you going to paint the yellow accents on the mobo? I think the yellow looks quite nice in there actually.

very sexy build mate.. really liking you theme...only got one question.. is the rad a bit tilted on the top side or is it just the picture that makes it look like that?
