Case Magnetic LED lighting

Hey guys,

So I have now been on the hunt for some led strips to put inside my PC, to light it up a bit and show off the beautiful components etc inside.

I was originally going for the NZXT Hue+, although I've recently come across a hell load of people complaining about it so much as killing their rigs.

Even one Youtuber actually got compensated by NZXT due to it ruin their PC.

So now I'm coming to you if you guys know any LED strips that are good? I do like Cablemods magnetic led strips, as they are magnetic.
I don't like the adhesive stuff, like the stuff Corsair has on their LED strips for their Corsair link/Commander led strips.

I also prefer white ones, just so you know :)

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Chrazey

The magnetic Bitfenix ones are absolutely great. I've got a white one in the top of my case and it illuminates everything brightly and evenly.

I have been using the Hue+ since June and i haven't and an issue with it, What i think has happen is the NZXT release an update and it has screwed up for some people and people are moaning about it.

And people are saying now oh don't buy the Hue+ just cause a small percentage of people had issues.

Ohh BitFenix, didn't know they made a magnetic one. Gonna have to check that one out :)

Darkside LEDs rule the planet. That would be my first choice.

Haha really? :p Well thanks for the tip, gonna check those out as well :)

I see, well from my own personal view on it all, if it actually kills a small perventage of people's PCs, I'm not sure I'd wanna bet my own PC to be one of those small percentages really ... If you get my point here.

You got RGB or a solid one? If so, what colour? :)
And is it a solid light or can it be dimmed down if too bright?

They are solid and they are very bright. Dimming would probably require some kind of controller, which Cablemod do have but I'm unsure how good it is (didn't TTL review this last year?).

It is solid and yes you can dim it with the remote control and mine is RGB but the white is a really good strong white and its other colors are excellent too
Here's Tom's vid

Ohh, cheers for that one mate! :)

A question though, one which maybe Tom can maybe reply to... If you hook it up to your Aura motherboard, can you control the LED seperately through Windows or is it the same colour as the motherboard?.

For example, if you have your motherboard in blue, can you have the LED strips in white?.

TBH I don't think you can BUT if you get the same one I did with the controler you have the best of both worlds I can hook it up to my board or run it separately and have totally different colors and as my keyboard is rgb I can have it different too!

Not really but anyway.

Every product that comes on the market is going to have issues and percentage of people are going to have problems, Now if your going to let that bother you, you might as well not buy any computer product (I'm not just directly pointing at you, i'm saying in gerenal).

For me issues like this with the Hue+ is not going to change my mind on the product itself, To me those issues that people are having is telling me there is more than just the Hue+ it could be something else like a power surge could easily take out a motherboard i know it's happen to me twice.

All i'm trying to say is there might be more things going on with that one video i heard about.
