Call Of Duty 4

well hackers are hackers and they will always find a way around blocks etc just to ruin the fun of a game. best thing to do would be to block those who are found hacking permanently and just keep updating the server with the latest software to help prevent hacks being used.

as for racism and other problems like that, its a pitty the offenders can keep their opionions to themselves and it does not need to be brought into a game; especially when younger children may be playing. to help reduce this problem banning the offender/s for a couple of days depending on how severe the abuse/comment was.

i shall be getting the game next week for my new pc .. see you all online :)

i agree totally with what you say there, maybe if we find people being abusive or hacking we should ban them totally straight away no arguements, however XMS is the man behind the server and setup, but he cant be there 24hrs a day so what do we do ?

there are 2 or more ways of running an online server .. you setting one up and playing on the server whilst other people play and if you exit and go offline the online game closes or setting up a machine that just runs on its own and changes the maps etc im guessing OC3D servers are the second one i mentioned

im not sure if its possible or not but here are some suggestions; similar to a parental control on a computer, maybe you could place some 'black listed' keywords in the server so whenever they are typed that particular person gets banned for about 5mins they could have a certain amounts of warnings and once the offender reaches his/her maximum limit they get banned permanently. the reason for warnings and not just a straight ban is that people may say things in frustration or may 'miss-type' what they really mean (you all no you have said something in the past on whatever subject; maybe about your wife’s mom or similar; and what you have said did not mean to cause offence but has been taken the wrong way) as not everyone means to cause offence....

obviously when XMS does view the server he can take up matters and decide whats best at the time and how serious the offence is ... (as humans are better at decision making than computers; but maybe not for long lol :p)

as i haven’t played CoD 4 yet im not 100% sure how the multiplayer games work on the game and if verbal communication is used during online play

Does anyone else notice considerably higher pings in this game compared to others or is it just me?

Agreed. Granted I've only played on the OC3D servers, so I'm not sure if its the fact that around 100 people are sucking up the servers bandwidth at any one time (2x UT3 servers on same machine), but ye my ping is around 50-60ms most of the time.

Had some cracking games last night.

Steady ping of 30...compared to most others 100-150 in the server xD

I know what people mean now about it being all action... Don't feel like i've blinked for an hour!

Now just wait a week for the PC version and get online play going!!

But my bday is New Years eve so i'll probably buy UT3 and Crysis...
