[Build Log] Mil-Spec

That bay-res is going to be loud. I have one in my main system and it creates a fair amount of vibration which causes the pump to be the loudest part in my rig.

Started on the front cover panel, got it roughed out ready for prep and paint.

Gloss black with some yellow detailing is the look for this piece

Love this thread! And could you make a tutorial for how to paint the fan rings from the corsair fans? Yellow rings would look interesting in a system with lets say a z77 Mpower board, I'm sure people would love to do the same.

Lookin' good, where are goin' to put the button for the emergency floatation device?:p

You can see why i called it MilSpec...
I like mods like this,it doesnt detract from the case character.

Very simple AN,key the ring with some 800 grit and spray...coat of primer and 2 coats of colour.

Keep the flex when you put the ring back to a minimum

That sounds quite easy, might just buy some fans for my current rig, which is really loud, and spray paint the rings :D

I asked Corsair for a colour code but they flat out refused, trying to match this green and have it look good would be very hard indeed.
Better this way i think.
That sucks that they would not give you the color. Cannot wait to see how it looks painted. :D

I am seriously on love with this one,B-Negative!Not to take anything away from your personal rig,but I actually like this one a bit more since its way more down to earth,if you get my drift;) lol

Thanks! In this day and age of CNC,its nice to keep modding simple and effective but still keep it within the capabilities of any DIY'er,nothing on this rig is hard to do,its mostly care and an eye for detail.

I love my SR2,dont get me wrong, but if i had the money in my hand again? I think I would of chosen something a little more....practical. ^_^

Seems a 360 fits in the top with no modding...other than taking a support beam in the drive bays out.

There is about 3/4 on an inch overhang on the ends but its wont interfere with air being exhausted.

The front panel got its final filing and etch coat today,so it will be finished by weds...

Now,I need to get a pump, spray the rad tanks and get the sides buffed up,then I start with the pipework!

Hopefully end of week it will be ready to fill up and have the loop signed off.

PIPEBENDING TIME!!!

The loop is in,just needs a a little tweaking here and there to get the lines right, but this is the layout.

WOW, that is absolutely chuffin' amazing, that looks so clean. It is actually making me feel slightly aroused....

Looks amazing,B-Negative!Really does!
But how exactly do you drain and flush this kind of loop?De-attaching those pipes doesnt seem easy at all to me,and I just dont see how the kid will do the the maintenance when its time for it.
