[Build Log] Mil-Spec

He'll love it :)
As long as it doesn't get loud, I see no issue with the cooler. We need to look at this from the perspective of the kid that's getting this - he'll think it looks absolutely amazing.

Hell, the two fan RAM cooling system could even be likened to a Chinook :)

Exactly this.

I have to put myself in the shoes of the intended user and what appeals to him.

This is an outstanding build. Everything looks so good, and the colors work very well. This will be one very excited teenager.

Looks good, just one small thing though--maybe the motherboard power cable would look tidier going into the grommet above the one you put it through? more direct anyway.
I like the cable management clips on the back of the C70, really nice small detail there.

Love the look of the case. The yellow accents from the fans really work well. Excited to see it with the plain acrylic window!

We teens here on OC3D are a bit too sophisticated for RAM coolers :D

Build looks great though, I feel like if my dad got me this as a present though I'd have to take it all apart just so I could say that I built it (building is half the fun!)

Well,my prayers have been answered!
XSPC and Specialtech are getting involved yet again!
Seems there will be a proper loop going in after all...buh bye H100,hello more hardlined lovelyness!!!

After speaking to the Dad,letting him know the good news,he then decided a second 660 needs to go in.
He has been following the build and reading other threads.....he now has the OVERKILL gene that we all share!
So,expect super clean piping and super clean hardware.

No GPU watercooling yet,I have to leave the lad SOMETHING to do dont i.

Again, many thanks to the two Pauls at XSPC and much love to the guys at Specialtech.
Not forgetting Namron and Skully from the Specialtech Forums for the spare kit they were willing to trade or donate.

Pics will come as the kit gets here.

Same here! but all my relatives know that I like building my own stuff, so when I get computer stuff as gifts its always single pieces of hardware.

But I built a system recently for someone's son and they were not interested in the build process at all, only the end result. That reminds me I should actually do a build log for that build. The computer the guy's son had before was a Pentium 4, Nvidia 6200, and I dont even know what else was in there!

Hey B Negative, how do you get all these sponsorships? I guess it's because you're known pretty well in the water-cooling world right? I'm guessing I wouldn't be able to call up XSPC and ask them for a couple radiators I want if I say I'll put them in a build log or something. Maybe it's worth a shot though?

I was lucky,XSPC dont usually do sponsored builds unless it can be used for trade show exposure.
They saw the previous build so when i asked they kind of knew who i was from that (i did put a link in to the build log ).
I didnt want much, just lucky he had it around to send.

If you dont have a track record then you dont really get a look in as there are many modders asking everyday for freebies.

The first bits start to arrive.

Specialtech were quick off the line as usual, with this beauty.

Namron was also speedy with this contribution.

This will be used if I cant get a D5.

Now....i want to wrap the hold down pieces in Di Noc..or spray them yellow also.

I prefer DiNoc for these small detail pieces myself so thats probably how i will go.

Thanks Again to....
