Hey there. I'm interested to see if any of you have any investments made in bitcoin, or are generally interested in it.

At the time of writing this, the btc exchange rate is around 390 USD per Bitcoin ;)

So, does anyone here have any stories to share or wants to discuss the current market?

@Mods: If this thread doesn't belong here, would you mind moving it for me? Thanks. :)

Well, I don't know if there is a terminology :D

I'm currently holding around 0.25btc myself (recently bought a humble bundle, had more before) and should get another 0.1 any day... Stopped mining tho...

Currently I'm waiting for the exchange rate to settle ;)

I have 2 BTC atm. Been holding since they were $2. They are at $450 ish atm (£270) Been through 3 bubbles, this seems like one but I can't say for sure. Either way I have made a few thousand on them, it's good stuff. I bought 2 7970 to mine with quite a while ago however after I left halls I couldn't justify the electric cost.

I didn't have ATi GPUs to mine with, so I didn't. I did use BFL ASICs tho. Stuff is happening, this is almost def. a bubble again, but that just means we can sell high and buy low ;)

I saw bitcoins when they first appear. they weren't really going anywhere and then suddenly they got insanely big. At the time i thought spending £50 on a couple of them was a waste of money. How wrong i was. Had i have bought 2 i've have about a grand right now....

There we go ;)
Pointless mining though...Have we thought about a team ? (Although I only really have a 7870 to mine with)
Waiting for the bubble to burst :D

They are worth about $1000 now, they are bound to crash in about a week, i just sold my 0.07 btc that has taken me the best part of a year to get  When the crash happens i think, give it 2 months and it will be at about $1500. For longterm investment they will be at $5000 in a year. Just my estimations. Also there is no point in mining for bitcoins with PC hardware, get yourself an ASIC miner or mine a smaller coin like litecoin or feathercoin. ASIC mining is somewhat like CUDA so i would hope to see some Nvidia mining opportunities in the future. For ASIC miners, you can just start with a couple of redfurys in your free USB 3 ports. Or if you have money to play with get a monarch. http://www.butterflylabs.com/monarch/

I have a few bitcoins, but never used them for anything. I think I paid like £1 or something for them. is it time to cash in ? lol

If you dont need money right now, just hold on them. The rumours are around that they can hit over 10.000$ wich might happen sooner then later.
I had 100 off them, ow how much i wished i still had them!

Well, the .38 btc I have at the moment are becoming more and more valuable :D

Also my brother has just discovered, that he might have a wallet with 157 bitcoins left... So yeah. :D

I usually use bitcoin.de to transfer Euros to BTC and BTC to Euros as needed. Rather convenient, cheap and quickly.
