Best MP3 Player for me?

I don't think it is necessarily the best actually, but it is a very decent, simple to use and convenient player

The iRiver has the best sound of any MP3 players I've listened to (a fair few)

As with everything in life each product has it's own merits and pitfalls. You simply draw up a list of requirements and if the product ticks the boxes then you buy.

For me, I think I'll be ordering the 8gb Nano. I don't mind itunes ( i always set itunes to rip mp3, plus sharepod lets you drag and drop my music without involving itunes)

Jimbo (I suspect) will be happy with the high quality (and loud) Clix...

You made your mind up yet mate?

I like iTunes too

If you want to convert frm AAC to MP3 and back again I believe Foobar does it

iTunes is great and Nano's are awesome imo

I've not used an iPod, but I was going to buy a nano at christmas but instead got a new phone which plays mp3s :)

But I really love iTunes, it's just amazing for sorting out your music collection and has some pretty cool functions. The layout is nice and neat aswell :)

Some of the addons/programs that work with it are cool aswell like the XHTML exporter program that allows you to export your collection to a webpage.

as others have said, i really like itunes and think it is a very useful tool, but if you are sure it isnt for you, then your main options are the irivers. i really dont like creative players, and not only do they break a lot (trust me) but their customer support is terrible.

as for the sonys, they are ok but personally i dont like the interface, its over complicated.

ipods are good,the new nano's are lush:yumyum:

i bet you would love an 8gb nano if you got one jimbo;)

if your dead set on not using itunes you can see if ipod software like 'ephpod' or 'anapod explorer' work with the new ipods, ime sure theres a few others as well most being free also.

cheers.

Creative zen (any really!) gets my vote. I and many of my audiophile friends believe creative sound quality surpasses any/most of the competition. Make sure you get some "in ear" ear buds for great bass, noise cancelling and it also makes it sound louder too (noise cancellation!)

I got the creative ep-630 and love em to bits, also my creative zen microphoto (when it sorts my cds properly) although a lot of my cds are split from live dj mixes via cue files - could be why

Creative Zen range gets my vote. Ive got a 4/5GB one and its brilliant.

Wouldn`t argue with Creative stuff, their stuff is great imo.

I`d offer to sell u the 10g Jukebox I`ve got here, but in all honesty it`s too bulky - like a cd player that has a harddrive.

.. don`t use it no more coz I use meh phone >.<

Depends which one. Sony NW-A3000 Walkman range (little purple things) aren't that good.
The players are fine. Infact, they're spot on. It's the software that's the problem. They have a decent amplifier, which is a lot better than the Vision:M's or iPods, and the interface is fine. Bad point, SonicStage. lol

ARGH SonicStage!!! I remember that POS with my MD player. As i recall, there was no alternative either. Methinks I'll steer clear.
