Assassins Creed Unity only 30fps on "Next-Gen" consoles

Thats pretty cool, I understand, just a topic that interests me a fair bit esp with the doping process etc ...

I dont claim to understand 100% and im a useless programmer lol i can barely get my Pi running well lol :(

But back to the Creed, Hopefully the Game play does not suffer.
 
I dont care how difficult it is to develop a game. With budget and team like Ubisoft has, they should not be lazy and do "console parody".
 
if its cpu bound its cpu bound though.. the ps4 may have better Graphical processing power "not that much if we want to be brutal about it" but for actual CPU to CPU power they are pretty close to identical.

it may be true if they tried they could have fully utilized the ps4's power but you tell me if they had would it have allowed them to increase the res at all? or would it have been a matter of well we can now have that one piece of paper flying through the air extra on the ps4..

i now there is a huge fuss over PS4 is better than xbox one. and sure enough spec for spec you can argue there is..

but a lot of systems have diferent spec in the pc world with the same/similar diference in processing power, and you know what Most of them run at the same settings and resolutions too..
maybe they should not have said something stupid like console parity. should have probably said something like.
with the game engine and ai requirements both the xbox and ps4 are forced to use these resolutions at these frames per second because honestly. they arent that great. the xbox is a bit worse than the playstation 4 but the play station 4 simply isnt THAT much better than the xbox one. there is simply no oway we would be getting this game to 1080p at 30hz on the ps4. and honestly this is about the best you can expect.
But atleast the playstation 4 wont get quite as hot as the xbox one will playing this game.

i see the people running arround saying "MS paid them to make it like this on the ps4"
well can you people prove to me that sony did not pay them to say "console parity is the reason for this"
rather than them saying
"well the ps4 simply cant do it either"

it seems a very strange statement to make unless some one asked you to make it. and the only people who would benefit from the statement would be sony..
So there you go new conspiracy for you guys to rave about.

alson one thing if they where truly limited by the cpu's it would be running 30fps@ 1080p and not 900p, resolution plays no role on cpu performance, do they really thing people will buy this bs, i mean crank up graohics fidelity as far as it can possible to go in that case and limit ai, but clearly thats not the case, and they are simply once gain payed of...

cpu performance plays a roll on gpu utilization..

if you load your cpu to 100% at any sort of reasonable resolution "and 900p is prety reasonable when the max you could ever hope for is 1080p"
there is no way you can utilize your Gpu any more than that without causin other performance issues. so with ai and everything else that makes up the game that is calculated on the cpu if the cpu is 100% in use and the gpu is only 70% in use there really is nothing you can do about it. you could crack up the resolutions and get the gpu to 85% usage..
but then you would most likely get low dips of 15 fps or something when the gpu is demanding more data from the cpu.

its something that can happen with a poorly balanced PC..
if you had a pentium 4 3.2ghz and crossfire 290x's in the system. there is no way you could fully utilize the 290's
and you could do what you wanted with the resolutions but frame rates would never improve above the cpu limits.
also the ram is shared on consoles. it may have ddr5 ram for the system its self. but its shared ram.. so the more you do the less yo have and the more data it all has to deal with..
the whole thing must be getting saturated to f..


Again i do agree they could probably do more with the ps4's hardware. but how much more could they do is something i guess we will never know the answer of.
but if it is that cpu bound. then i doubt there is much you could do on either system.

if it was a pc..
you would upgrade. simple.

buy cod : aw on your pc.
spend £400 on upgrades, and you can still use it on your upgraded pc but with better settings.

Yeah but it works out well for me because I was going to get it on PS4 and my brother in law is buying my PS3 so I can get the game twice for the price of one. ;)

You're the wrong one here. How come The Last of Us and Uncharted 4 are both running 1080p 60fps and the visuals are better? The polygon count is higher on the characters? The AI in these games(also basing off previous UC games) are far superior to any AC i have played before. They are not limited? They push it to the limits. Ubi isn't.

Ubi can do this but they choose not to. Ya it's harder since its multi plat but there is no excuse when others are doing it better. That's why it is laziness. With the size of Ubi and the money they make off AC alone they don't really have an excuse, they choose to to milk the franchise every year(yes i know they work on it for a couple years before hand) and instead they don't give it the time it deserves to make it the best it can be for everyone. They have the skills but the higher ups only care about the money.

Sorry but constantly bashing developers based on incorrect information and then stating them as facts is a pet hate of mine. If you said that they are your opinions then that's fine. And I'm not going to answer those because you are comparing a Sony studio with a cross platform studio and AC simulates more crowd than any other game.

Doesn't Dead Rising 3, GTA, Total War (PC) simulate more crowd?
