Andre's X58 Personal Build

Yes, if you want the Lightbox just request it you can find costum requested parts in the shop, he makes everything - don't be shy. :)

Thanks! This is exciting! I just wish corsair didn't make that front panel flap and button at the top because there's not much you can do about that even if you install one of those front panels!

I am excited about this though! Not sure were you would install a lightbox, since there is no basement in the 650D like in the 800D, maybe a smaller version of it would fit in between the PSU and the hard drives where some cases have that extra intake fan.

You could create your own midplate. You could have a slot for start + reset switch over the drive and lamptron or for a 3,5" card reader - or something else, that's small or just leave it empty if you want the front costumized he will do it. I don't think he will even set the prize higher - have friends who made really good expieriences with him.
:)
Or if you don't want it remove the hotswap dock and include something else in there or just create your own reservoir and mount it in there that you can see inside it through a plexiglass wall mayby include a fillport ... endless options :)

But there is no DVD place anymore, just for the Lamptron and the Lamptron display.

I dont need a dvd slot since i dont use an internal optical drive, but i have mixed feelings about the fc6 one because i dont know if i like just having the screen and knobs sicking out only. i know it's more clean looking but still but 100% sure about it because i kind of like the fc6 faceplate.

Oh, I think you have to remove the old front of the lamptron device but I'm not sure. I just wanted to show you some options, whatever you'll do I'm sure it will look awesome.

that sounds appealing -- i really like the sound of those anti vandal switches tom was pressing in the merlin video off camera -- even the less nice lamptron switches on the merlin sounded good to me, since the stock switch on the 650d makes no noise at all and like i said is so still you can hardly even press it.

If you do end up installing some custom switches at the front or top somewhere, what happens with the stock switches? Im not too crazy about having a set of switches there not doing anything, that's the only thing..

Include a turbo button, who maxes all fans for oc :)

Haha, well I'm see about what I will do. I am fine with it the way it is, I just have a few minor complaints, but what case doesn't, right? Thank you very much for all the suggestions!

Hey man, will you be uploading any pictures of your system on here? or do you have a link to pictures of it somewhere else? I'd like to see it!

If you want I can give you more pics of the lightbox - I know the owner of the case, that's shown on coldzeros page.

My System is laying on my workbench :P I will post pics, after my modding is done - I work to slow for a worklog :)

Looks very nice :) I have almost everything here and planes are there too, and a full 3D model, mayby I will upload some pics of that later okay? :)

Plans are - self build top reservoir - full power supply sleeving - selfmade watercooling blocks for my dominator rams - mayby a Slight - new reset and power switches - case addon including a mora 3 core - mayby installing the aquaero 5 on the top of my Lian Li PC-V700WX - mounting the window to the inside - include a own aperture with a lighning ROG logo - swapp all the fans - include lightning (cold cathods + leds) - recolor the fron usbs from blue to red - own interface to connect the 9 fans on the mora into the case easyer and keep the clean look

some of these steps are already done, it's a long way ..
atm I try to figure out how to color the copper of the ram coolers black with potassium sulfide.

Thanks! I actually just gave it a clean and photographed it so I will add those new pictures to the build log once I upload them.

okay i will keep my eye out!

I have always liked Lian Li because of their high quality and minimal aesthetic , not so much for the cable management though at least on the older models. the v700 looks like quite a small case? that will be interesting to see! the v700s have that nice large section of mesh at the front that goes almost all the way up to the top, so i like that a lot.

Awesome news, me and my friend are building a cnc milling in the near future and will be able to produce our own watercoolers and plexiglass reservoirs (out of one part + topplate). But I don't want to wait for my topreservoir :(
