Andre's X58 Personal Build

Hey -- So I am a small question.
I need to run a molex from thje psu up the the top of the case to power my Lamptron fc6 unit. Currently I am using the 4X molex that comes with the corsair ax850, and i use the molex at the very end to power the fc6. The problem with this, though is that there are 3 spare, unused molex connectors around the back of the case, and I would really like it to be more clean. So what I would like is the get a single cable that is the same length as the 4X molex corsair gives, but only have one molex on the end, that way it will be more clean around the back and get rid of those 3 unnecessary molex connections around the back panel.

Does anyone know where I can order a custom molex cable for ax850?
Thanks

It's possible to remove the other connectors but not recommendet .. if you do isolate with some shrink or something else ..

Mayby try this ..

I dont like extensions and things like that, I want a custom cable that is all one piece, but the same length as the 4X molex that comes with the ax850 so it's long enough to run to the top of the case but it will look completely clean all the way up.

it's totally unnecessary, I'm just being really fussy at this point because i like everything to look perfect and as clean as possible

This is what my back panel looks like right now--There is an unused SATA3 cable there which will be taken out, there is oneSATA power there from the hot swap dock which i want to move up into the top of the case maybe, and then there is that unused molex which i would like to get rid of with a custom cable, while im at it i might also get a custom sata power cable that is long enough to go right up to the roof and hide it up there so its clean all the way up

Another option would be to create your own molex cable ... and what molex wer're talking about? Sata molex fan molex or 4 pin molex?

Sans Digital MobileRAID MR2UT+B

a few weeks ago i picked up a sans digital mobileraid mr2ut+b unit to use as a common redundant storage between my laptop and desktop.

the build quality is exceptional, it is very solid and heavy. the raid1 function works well and the usb3.0 and esata speeds are equal to internal speeds that i was getting with the same drives (which are 2X 1tb WD green drives) the only complaint i have with it is that this small 2 bay unit uses a single 40mm fan in the back for cooler as opposed to the 120mm that the larger 5+bay units use and the 40mm fan does not have an automatic speed control either, so it just runs full speed all the time and it's a bit loud, but not too bad.

Yes, looks nice, but why not simple a network storage?

dont really want to have it on the network id rather just have it connected via usb it's 95% for my laptop which is what i use primality so it's not like im switching back and forth all the time

im not saying that a nas is completely out of the question in the future but this is just very simple and it was cheap too so it's good for now

Yes, sure but over the network you could access with both pcs on the same time.

MSI Radeon 7950

I just ordered an MSI Twin Frozr 7950, so i will be bringing a graphics card update with some pictures of my own and some benchmark results when i get that. the twin frozer iii is currently one of my favorite looking cards with the black pcb and the understated grey cooler. the newer frozr 4 cards are nice too, but i don't really like the look of the power conditioner on them.

Noice! Can't wait to see it in your rig :D

Can't wait for the Benchmarks on that Card

thanks! me too! wanted something with a bit more power for upcoming titles like crysis 3 plus things i already play, but not on ultra settings like battlefield 3.. they had it on sale for a great price plus it came with 3 games which they call the amd never settle enthusiast bundle - far cry 3, sleeping dogs, and hit man absolution, so i couldn't resist!

apparently it overclocks extremely well, and is very cool according to tom's review and other's. tom had the memory clock around 1450 i think and they had it at 1530 in this one. With the overclock it was scoring about 1000pts above a stock 7970 in 3d mark 11 P
