AMD 2016 Roadmap Confirmed! 8 Cores are Back!

I hope that AMD pulls something out here. I personally will be holding onto my FX-8350 for a while, the video card will need to be upgraded and an SSD will have to be acquired though. I am hoping that DX12 will pull the gaming performance up greatly with the multi-core scaling on the older/current-ish tech. It is kind of odd for me to be seeing a quad core FX flagship, but I guess with simultaneous multithreading it will not be too much of a change in the beginning. I was really hoping to see an 8-core processor with on die graphics, even if it is just so that it can drive a display, like the current R3 or something.

What I don't get is why there doing dual core versions with gaming tech, There's currently only a few games that won't run on less than 4 cores (Far cry 4 being one). But the numbers sure to grow and dual cores are simply "not fit for use" anymore.

It's the same with how there making dual core Steam boxes. When console gamers (Who are a large part of the target audience) find there new PC console won't run games like Far Cry 4 which the real consoles can run there not going to want a dual core rig.

The fact you think dual cores are irrelevant boggles my mind. Not every CPU strictly plays games. They do more than that..
