Alien Destroys motherboard.... what next world invasion

Cheers guys !

I'll take some photos of all the parts before I rebuild. Gives me a good chance to get them dust free too :D

I just sent them an honest email pointing out how upset I was tbh.

Nothing nasty just honest. They're a good company so I just couldn't understand why they were acting like that. They could have been trying to help by saving me money on postage but I really don't mind as their service is really quick.

In the UK a company can quite legally take 90 days for an RMA which in England will happen. We're a pretty lazy nation tbh.

That's why I -

1. Don't mind paying extra for good customer service
2. Paying extra for a product because I know if something goes wrong it will be sorted.

Cheap products (like XFX and Palit etc) are cheap for a reason. They have pretty much eliminated everything just to be cheap (like support, RMA centers and so on).

I've never been one to nickel and dime over £10 off of a product. I always, always, used to use BFG simply because they were amazing if you needed an RMA.

Brief update..

I sent the board back yesterday at a cost of £18. I was quite pleased with that as I could not find a courier any cheaper (£16+ VAT so £19.20 without insurance) so back it went.

After doing some PC fiddling today it's really started to hit home just how desperately I want my PC back working. I was right at the end of Tomb Raider and I really want to play some Duke Nukem Forever.

I was exactly the same as you mate when my z77-gd65 died. I went out and bought a cheap replacement motherboard for 40 euros to pass the time :)

Yeah I know man :)

Just ran the tracking number and it's in Holland. I just hope nothing bad happens like getting an email telling me the pins are bent or something.

Hi AlienALX.

Hope you get a new board, after all the things you have been going on whit. I'm in the same ship here, my mobo have died on me and taken my CPU whit it. But MSI have been over it right from the start, so hope to get a new one. Have got a GD 45 X79 when my board is getting check and a new cpu from intel.

Cool I hope everything works out OK :)

Well nothing to report sadly. Tracking says it's in Amsterdam and being processed for delivery and two emails to MSI have gone unanswered.

This sucks. Big hairy <snip>
