Airsoft Thread

I'm sure in that case they would use real weapons of course :) You can't teach ballistics of bullets using bbs :P

Paintballers and Airsofters don't always get on, lots of stuff surrounding 'realism' from airsofters and 'violence' from paintballers...

Paintball guys see it as more of an actual sport using 'markers' not guns. There's the whole ruling about not having fully automatic paintball guns, where as airsoft is full auto etc etc etc..

The list goes on but they don't often cross-paths a lot in my experience.

Ahh I see, never done it myself but I prefer the realism of Airsoft. It's like a videogame, the more realistic the better. Get some gun pics as soon as you can SuB. :)

Always wanted to get into airsoft but never did.. went down the FAC route and got me some real guns..

GSG 5 .22 rimfire.. lots of airsoft mods..

they're gone now and my FAC cancelled and i miss them!

Firearms Certificate.. you'd need to check with your local police force about requirements to apply..

you'll need to be a member of a registered gun club too..

The laughable thing is that even though i could own full blown guns.. i wans't allowed to own realistic firearms (airsoft) under my certificate.

Ahh sod that, there will be no gun clubs around here. Apparently Altcar Rifle Range is one, but it's an Army base? Who knows.

Everything is daft, I've just passed my driving test, and am going to do a motorybike one next but I have to do my theory test again...just want our money!

The laws around Rifs are totally stupid. The whole thing with buy a two tone and not re-painting it is ridiculous. Then there's the gift it to anyone but can't buy it. It's so full of holes it's crazy.

Sorry for lack of pics, in the middle of moving house and a bunch of other stuff.

It is a public range and a army training range but you can only go there with a club.. they hire out ranges and lanes.

Don't think you can just rock up with your firearms and shoot.

The idea is that you need a licence to buy a Replica Rif. What would be the point in the licences if you could just buy a 2 tone and paint it?

That's like saying you can't buy a real firearm without a licence but you can guy one painted bright orange and respray it :p

I admit that the whole licence idea seems daft to begin with. It never used to be there and the fact that not all sites can supply you with a licence even if you play there a lot is just stupid. Doesn't bother me though as I have a licence haha!

The license doesn't bother me, it's the fact that you can circumvent it by gifting someone a R.I.F. The legality of it is in the purchase, not in the ownership.

The stupidity of the Two Tone rule is, even if you have a Ukara license, it's still illegal to unpaint/overpaint the original two-tone !

The lincense behind it is very much thought through. Now obviously you don't know what a RIF is and why there is a license to be able to buy one otherwise you would not think that the license behind it is stupid. You have to be a avid Airsofter to buy one for a reason. Do some research and you'll find out why they are licensed. ;)

Whilst i know why RIF's are licensed what i couldnt understand was why i couldn't legally walk into a airsoft shop and buy a RIF with my firearms certificate but i could buy a real gun.. Whilst restricted to a straight pull 5.56mm M4 ... it still looked and felt exactly like an m4 and yet i couldn't buy a toy that looks like an m4.
