As for taking them outside, so long as you're on your own land it's fine. I personally informed the local police that I own and test/build/repair/etc them and also just double check with 2 neighbours on either side of your house.. Tbh. You should be fine.

There was a point where I had an entire back room filled without about 35 AK-74s Spetnatz rifles in various stages of having their springs trimmed to lower their FPS. If I'd been "raided" it could easily have looked like something out of a movie lol.

Don't go doing anything silly like shooting wildlife, that will end you up in Jail.

If you think you can afford them, you're welcome to try and make an offer :P but these are very customised and personal guns for me so you don't stand a chance ;)

I dunno, if they're customised I have no idea on price. Only standard stock prices. :P Was it the SR25 or something you mentioned? Aren't they like a really long M4 sniper looking thing? Yes they are just googled it lol. :P

Have you got a Barret? As far as I know they only sell as conversion kits for like £1000!

Edit: Do you know if they still run an all night skirmish in the UK? When I first heard of Airsoft there was something called thunder or something which was like all weekend, all night but I'm sure they didn't run it again after that.

They do all nighters all over the place, but they won't be ultra regular as the costs are quite high and you have to make sure you get the bookings to make it worthwhile.

As for the SR25, yeah completely custom build, smooth/tightbore barrel and all sorts. Nice little number, worth about £500.

The custom Vltor M4 is worth around £600.

No I don't have a barret, if I did i've have listed it!. I have held a real one though ;)

I'm not sure in the UK but i have seen them available on occasion, for £1000 level buying you might as well stretch and get the cheytec rifle, I hear that thing is a beast, interchangeable gas/spring firing system. breaks apart like the real-steal and looks the dogs. Thing with anything like that, is they weight a tonne and you need to stay mobile ;)
 
Did you hold the real Barret in the UK?

£600 for an M4. :| How can you own all these guns and not go skirmishing with them, crazy.
 
I did indeed. Along with an M4A1 an M249 Saw, a Glock19 and a FN-Scar setup as a sniper rifle... All completely 'active' weapons. Absolutely stunning, just wish I could have fired them!

The Barrat weighed a metric f'ing tonne.. all this running sniper 360 noscope crap in videogames is TOTAL bs.. Standing up and lifting that to even look through the takes some serious beef, there's absolutely no way you could fire that standing up, accurately, without some pretty serious training and muscle-mass.

I also know of an actual firing range in my semi-local area that had one there one day on the quiet, they fired several rounds and blew quite a few windows with the rapport... mental. I'd love to fire one someday, or even a proper 5.56 M4, I'd give just about anything to do that.

Yup, the thing is when you've run it as a business the hobby kind of turns into 'work' and it can take away from it a bit, I enjoyed it when I enjoyed it but now it's nice to be able to own them and stuff. First time I heald an M4 in full metal I was instantly sold. Also there's this trick you can do, give someone dual GBB pistols, and just tell them to fire. If they get the 'gun cackle' you know they're an airsofter ;)


Edit: http://www.fire-support.co.uk/category/sniper-rifles/ for sniper rifles, you can 'get one' for around £150 but personally if you want something accurate that will last, i'd be looking from £350 upwards. You want metal, not plastic if you can as that's the stuff that breaks.

A guy I know from university is in business with Tackleberry (Well known high end airsoft modder) and supplies a lot of the modified Systema guns to train police etc. Those guns are awesome but cost so much! especially after getting it modded by Tackleberry

@SPS yes you need to be UKARA registered to own an imitation firearm. You can however purchase them painted lime green, see through etc.

You do unfortunately yeah, as mentioned by SuB. It changed in 2006 or something I can't remember so you need to have a license just so to stop people running round streets with them.

There was someone who went into a club once with a handgun, he got cornered off by armed police outside and they eventually figured it was a airsoft gun, the police won't take any risks.

Jeeze, that Barret must be powerful, I'm sure it gives a nasty blowback, enough to put your shoulder out.

If you want a R.I.F (realistic, imitation, firearm) that is, black and not painted in a bright colour, yes.

If you don't mind it being sprayed 50% day glo pink/blue/green then no.

Yeah they wouldn't even let me cock and pull the charging handle on it, the force from the spring itself without a round in the chamber to hold the sucker in, can damage it!

Yeah systema stuff is insane, I've had a play with a systema M4 and it was amazing, you can even program in random round jams so you have to mag out and use the forward assist to clear the round etc.. utterly gorgeous kit as well, all 1:1 scale so all real-steal furniture fits and works. Most airsoft stuff is a few mm out (for obvious reasons).

Systema gear does look nice but I'll be honest, I don't know the difference between that and ICS, Classic Army, Tokyo Marui.

£1000+ is also way to expensive!
I wonder how much it costs for a real firearm to be made, just for law enforcement/military, not for me or anything. :|

If you go on Arnies Airsoft, there are site reviews so I'm sure that Yorkshire site is on their with the dudes that play there. I'd imagine they are all about the same, you should give it a visit. Its usually like £30 for the day, that includes your fee to go there, a gun to loan for the day, BB's and basic camouflage and sometimes food/drinks.

Systema gear is much, much higher end gear. It's designed to be used for professional training, so you have 30 round mags, you MUST charge/prime your gun before use, you must go through proper reload procedures etc.

They are also 1:1 scale and all real-steel stuff fits, things like rear fittings, ris/ras rail attachments and stuff.

Also they usually fire 600fps upwards. There's nothing like it :)
 
So it's mainly for real training then but Airsofters can use them? Why don't they just use real M4's. O.o

Check this out from years ago. It says SAS but I'm sure it's Airsoft. The raido talk is Half-Life 2, the way they move and stuff isn't quite realistic but it's a bloody good effort!

Because if you shoot someone with a real m4 in training, they don't get to respawn..

It's more about building operational muscle memory and the instinct to clear a weapon than actually 'shooting' it.
