Hey guys,

So I'll be getting the BitFenix Aegis as soon as it's releases, but I have something that I'm "concerned" about though... the front intake part of it, kinda like the Obisidan series from Corsair, are kinda restricted in terms of space for the front intake fans.

Thanks guys,
Chrazey

You might want to wait for my review before you buy it

Depends which one you get I suppose.

My Phenom is really, really solid quality (except for the plastic tabs on the upper HDD cage that broke off) but then again it is €70. The Shinobi was alright, but considering the time it came out and the quality it has I wouldn't say it's bad.

I've said from the beginning the Aegis looks a bit plasticky though, but I have no idea what the quality is like.

Survivor was awful. In fact, there's a review on here somewhere that I wrote. Colossus, OK. Not great, just OK. Pandora -

Two were sent back with, ironically, the same sorts of things I didn't like about the Survivor.

To their (Bitfenix) credit though they did send me another one, though it wasn't much better than the first..

Noctua fans are good but I also like Akasa Apache s-flow flans. Their quiet and have excellent air flow and static pressure.

Anyone agree, in comparison to the Be Quiet Silent Wings 2?...

Guys... I'm literally stuck between Noctua NF-F14 Redux and BeQuiet! Silent Wings 2 140's.

Are there any other good fans that is promising in such a restricted area, which is in the front intake place of the BitFenix Aegis.

Thanks guys!

Pure wings by BeQuiet have treated me quiet well... They're 1000rpm at 12v but I have mine @7v for ~640rpm... I have 7 of them in my case and when I press the power button I always think my PC is broken because it doesn't make a sound ;)

Hope OP doesn't mind that I'd like to ask a question here too as it's somewhat related and would be pointless to make a new thread!

I have just got a Corsair 450D (on the advice of the lovely OC3D forum members) and am looking to replace the stock fans.

My original choice is the AF140s and AF120s for front intake and exhaust but after reading this thread I'm really stuck! The fans needs to be black really so the recommendation of the Noctua Redux has piqued my interest!

Secondly, I'd like to get a H110i GT when they're re-released and wondered what 140mm fans to get to replace the standard ones. The AF140s aren't made the Radiators I assume because of the low static pressure so I thought about getting a couple of the Noctua Industrial fans.

What do you guys think in both regards? Other recommendations welcomed!

Also, OP if you'd like me to make my own thread just ask!

That's fine, just watch out for Feronix ;)
And this thread is actually called "Advice on best fan?...", so I guess it's a general thread by now hehe :p

Over to your questions, I personally have a 250D lying about and have earlier used it.
I also used to have the Noctua Industrial 2000RPM PWM fans on the H100i in it... I can tell you, in idle they were literally dead silent. But whenever I just started the PC and they started to ramp up, they were like the famous traditional AMD reference coolers :p... Loud!... But then again, they're made for industrial.

You do know that Corsair has 140's SP's right?...

For the front of your 450D, I'd look in this thread for a fan choice, as that has quite restricted air space in the front, such as mine BitFenix Aegis does... hence this thread lol

Hi and thanks!

I looked at the SP140s but it appears Corsair don't sell a non LED variant and I don't like the LED versions.

With regard to the front of the 450D it is completely unrestricted as I have removed the HDD cage so that's not an issue.

There are some brilliant fans out their but I'd like to get the right combination of looks and performance!
