Advice on best fan?...

Heres one for ya Vardar by EK ,bought me these recently form OCUK the bundle deals . Those fan are barely audible and have amazing static pressure . On the box it states 25.5 dBA but my dBA app which is pretty accurate reads just under 13 dBA , Best of all power draw is only 0.73w that's tiny .

So I've now gotten Nocuta NF-P14 Redux PWM 140's, BeQuiet Silent Wings 2 140's PWM and Corsair AF140's... not sure which ones best.

I can tell you though that the BeQuiet seems to have a quite tricky mounting lol... the Noctuas seems well built etc but the colours ain't the very best... the Corsair's seems the most aesthetically pleasing... it also has the smallest motor :p

Still not sure though ...

I tried the NF-P14s but they were too loud for me!

Have settled for 2 AF140s as front intake, 1 AF120 as a rear exhaust and 2 AF120s as top exhausts.

I do have an additional question though! In the BIOS settings of my motherboard the minimum RPM I can have the case fans running at is 60%. Even though the AFs are quiet I still think they're a little too loud at idle.

I've found a setting in the BIOS to turn the fans off at idle/at low temperatures. Is this ok? Or will heat build up in the case?

Need some help on 200mm fan's as I've never used a 200mm fan before on any build.
I was wondering if any of you guys had any useful hints on which one I should purchase . Id would like them to be pwm but I don't seem to able to find any on the sites i've visited . These will be for an up coming build in a thermaltake core X 9 Case . The thing is pig ugly but it's HUUUUGGGGEEE.

I think a few years ago Cooler Master Megaflows were really the only ones you could get, but now there are a lot of standard ones from NZXT and such that included them in their cases.

I myself have a 230mm Bitfenix Spectre Pro which is quite amazing. They only do 900 RPM at 12 volt and shift a tonne of air (cause it's so big) while still being fairly quiet. I have heard they're pretty much inaudible at 7volt, but I put mine on 5, thus making it spin ~375 RPM ish and I can't hear anything but the airflow if I put my ear next to it.

It is the only intake fan I have in my ITX system and my temps are really good for a small case :) As a bonus they come in either black or white and with all sorts of LED options (or no LEDs).

I think Phanteks also do some 200mm ones which look pretty attractive, but I'm really not sure how good they are.

As Feronix mentioned, BitFenix Spectre Pro 200mm is quite awesome, I have that one in blue LED as well as Cooler Master MegaFlow 200mm... not using either of them though lol.

They do shift a ton of air though, I must say :)

Thanks guys I will look at both suggestions .

Personally, and I bet that Feronix will agree with me, that BitFenix's fans do look the best in terms of 200mm fans. Plus I think they might also be the best on the market, atleast amongst the best (not that there are that many 200mm on the market )

So I just came across these and thought I'd share it..

Not sure about them though, but has anyone else heard anything regarding these?... I must say that the color of them does look pretty nice though, but I'd like to have color change able something to them, and not just "here is what you get, take it or leave it", but options in terms of colors, such as Corsair's fans.

Not sure if I'm allowed to post this or not, but I guess the mods will change that if neccessary...

From what i have been told Those fans are replacements for the Fractal Design Silent Series R2 Fans.

I'm looking at those too

Based off the video that was posted on them, they are better than Corsair AF/SP fans. Which I can believe because i have SP 120QEs and tbh they aren't that great and way to damn pricey when I orginally bought them.. now they are much cheaper but you are getting what you pay for here. Depending on where I look though for the FD fans, they are pretty much almost the same price as well so it won't break the bank by getting them.

After all is said and done and having had 14 yrs experience of builds and not believing the hype. Two brands are head and shoulders above the rest. Cougar and Noctua.

Simples:
1. Noctua Redux - If they are too ugly for you => 2. Be Quiet Silent Wings 2 - If they don't match your scheme => 3. Build a new system to match option 1/2. :)

1. Were quite noisy to be honest here, nost sure why though... 2. That thing just produced so little airflow that even my farts give out more lol.

How about these bad boys?

Noctua NF-F12 IndustrialPPC 2000RPM 120mm High Performance Fan:
http://www.ebuyer.com/663244-noctua...rpm-120mm-high-performance-fan-nf-f12-2000rpm

Those stats though:

Airflow 71.7 CFM
Acoustical Noise 29.7 dB(A)
Static Pressure 3.94 mm H2O

I may seriously get two of these for my intakes, and 2 lesser pressure fans to replace the corsair ones on my H100, just for lols. I would never even need to run those full pelt.

They are no doubt nice fans, but not everything is as written on paper. They are probably going to be fairly loud, so you'll have to run them on low-voltage adapters. And then you get less noise, but also less performance ;)

Still, they are really nice fans
