XFX 7870 Tahiti Le Ghz Edition

My friend owns Two XFX 7870 Tahiti Le Ghz Edition running in Crossfire. I was just wondering what one card has the closest performance to these two cards in crossfire? He told me that these two cards in Crossfire have the performance just below that of a GTX 780? is this true?
Any help would be great thanks.

To be honest i could almost believe that. the 7870 tahiti le is pretty much equal to the 7950 when it comes to 1080p gaming, the 7950 does better in 1440p. So two of them together would definitely outperform a 7970 or 680. The 780 would be the best single card comparison to them. I would give an edge to the 780 but it would be very close especially in benchmarks that are at 1080p
