Windows Vista: Memory management has me confused!

Because of a memory leak in AoC ive had recently, ive been fiddling around with my memory (freeing as much up as possible) - however, im very confused over a few things.

One, is that although ive got superfetch OFF, vista is still caching all my memory >< (And, im no fan of prefetching etc, *big* fan of the XP way of doing things),

secondly, i know that 32bit vista cant use all 4GB of ram, but it seems that my vista (looking around) uses less than it should be able to? Total memory in my computer reported @ 4.0GB - total in Task mangager is 3070 - where some users report 3.4/5 etc????

I think the limit is 3.25gb but there is also your gfx card mem to take in to account.

I may be wrong though

if graphics card is taken into account its 1GB - 9800 GX2 - so would be around what i get i think? (3070)
