Windows Shuts Monitor Off Every 10 Minutes

Dicehunter

Resident Newb
Currently on Windows 10 and for some reason the monitor shuts itself off every 10 minutes as if the power option for "Turn off the display" was set to 10 minutes.

All options are set to off/never yet the monitor still shuts off, I've tested the monitor with another rig and it's definitely windows acting funky as it turns back on when any key on the keyboard is pressed.

Anyone come across this before ?

Turned out to be a funky windows install, Formatted and re-installed and it's all good now, Turns out that no matter which setting I had the "Turn of the display after xx minutes" on, It would always default to 10 minutes.

How so ? Do you know something ? ^_^

Windows problems can come back again after a while, When i was using Windows 10 my monitors would randomly flicker back since i went back to Windows 8.1 it hasn't done it once, So with me i put it down to Windows 10 problem.

I was running the same version number of the GPU drivers

If it happens again I'll wait a few weeks to see if MS sort it out.

You can only hope, But if there is not enough people have the same issue as you i can't see it being fixed atm.

RMA windows! It must be done.

At least the MS support team on the phone are really nice people! ^_^ I had a issue where windows wouldn't connect with my MS account and nothing I found online seemed to fix it. So I called them and the guy told me to change something in a registry key and that fixed it. They have the know how for sure, and are super duper kind. (and nerds I might add) ^_^^_^
