955 with 570 defo!

The 570 beats the 560 TI and 955 will not hold it back in any way shape or form so you'll have a better gaming experience as you'll be able to top out more games.

Not sure if this has already been covered as I just skipped to the end of the thread to get my 2 cents in but if you want to be able to add a second 570 later then you'll need a 990X board as the 8XX mobo's don't support SLI. Also, a mid range 990X board will run two cards at x16/x16 where a mid range P67/Z68 board will only be running them at x8/x8. Doesn't really make a difference over one monitor however but still, there you go. Sorry if you already knew all that but there's never any harm in checking is there?

Another one who understands me..

And no, what you said there was not covered

I still think the i5-2500K + 560ti would be better overall (sacrificing 5-10 fps for a twice as powerful cpu seems logical to me), but anyway it seems like you've made up your mind, good luck with the new stuff would like to see some pics when the rigs done if possible.

+1 i also strongly agree the the i5 2500k and the 560Ti would be the better route to take as the 955 is pretty much at the end of its life now and yes the 570 is better but the 560Ti HAWK (overclocks really well) is more than enough to run most games at max settings . Also the i5 will last you for a good few years to come rather than the amd which will need replacing a lot sooner.

Well theres my opinion, hope this helps

Thanks, Chris

I'm not saying that the 2500K system wouldn't be the better performing system overall, it would, but for gaming the 955 system with 570 would max out more games.

I know on most games there are only 5-10 FPS difference between the two now but as new games come the 560TI will be playing games on high that the 570 will be playing on max and then after that 560 TI will be playing games on medium that the 570 will be playing on high.

There is more I'd like to add but I don't have time cus I need to get to work but what I'd honestly do if I was you fraghappy is just buy the 570 now and run it on your E8400 and try and bide your time as it's not the best time to be buying CPU's atm imho.
