I'd still go for AMD. Better OpenCL support and you can easily just OC it..

Just get the 970 seeing as you're not building a rig for just photoshop. OpenCL wise, its on par with a 290x.

Stock for stock, the Nvidia card is faster with OpenCL. Overclocked the Nvidia card will still win.
It'll be interesting when the new AMD cards show up as to how much better they are with openCL. Open GL AMD wins hands down.
Vegas is mostly GL based it seems:

CL based stuff however and the 970 wins (just):

I'd just wait for the new AMD cards. It'll lower prices everywhere and they could be very good.
If it was me, I'd just get that 970. New stuff comes out all the time and no matter how long you wait, the day you buy something, something better will pop up.

power efficiency and heat output to me in a desktop is meaningless. Won't really make a difference if you get a good cooler.
Even in an mITX system?... since the space is very limited, compared to an ATX system with better airflow etc.
As long as you manage your fans well it should be fine.. I mean unless its a super small enclosure where it barely fits then ya it is a problem. Other than that it can be dealt with.
You clearly don't own an ITX system  Ask Barnsley, he regrets it so much, even with a reference cooler! Even though you're right about the 380T having more mesh than both our cases (Phenom and 901).
If the Strix fits, I'd go for that over the EVGA card, especially since their last generation of cards had so many failing coolers and such.

That bad huh?
Chrazey, are you sure the side panel still fits on too?![]()
If I were you, though, I'd go with the MSI Gaming 4G, it's as tall as the strix, if not slightly less, and has better features and cooling IMHO: the DirectCU cooler doesn't even touch the memory chips... and I'm a bit worried for that.
That is, if you don't mind the lack of a backplate...
And, if you plan on watercooling, EK has some nice waterblocks for the MSI, too!
Hope I helped you in your decision,
Haha.... not really no. I did PM the guy who has that specific build in the picture, but haven't gotten a reply.
Hmmm, what about the MSI card? That has the 0 RPM fan feature too.
