Which graphics card?

@Vault, I still don't know why you should buy them then specifically if you're in germany? Only because they have an office there? lol

@Chrazey I think you can buy these cover online, and I also wouldnt just prefer a brand because of an unnecesairy rubber piece.

what if you need to RMA?

If you don't live there the postage costs a fortune. At sale the company who sold it to you are responsible for the RMA for two years only. After that you have to deal directly with the manufacturer,so it makes sense to buy from the one closest to you.

I've just had to ship a motherboard back to MSI in Holland from the U.K and it cost me £23. Had it been a Gigabyte it would have cost me about £5.

Edit. The EVGA model will certainly not come with those on,or a back plate, because EVGA don't make the reference 980ti, Nvidia do. That's a GTX 280 and they haven't done that since.

I've had reference EVGA cards and they do have little rubber protectors and EVGA's packaging, which isn't anything special.

Chrazey isn't silly he will RMA it within the first week, don't think he has kept anything long enough to deal with a manufacturer yet.

If your only looking at reference cards then I would go with EVGA as they are cheaper and seem to have sensible after-sales support. Just looked in my box and found the silly little rubber gold finger cover, had one with my reference EVGA cards too.

@JR23 - Just to be clear here, I RMA stuff if they are defect in any way. It's not like I enjoy spending time and money to drive to the store every other day just because.

I am like everyone else, buy a product and expect it to work... if it's then not working properly, then the only option I have is to RMA?, or do you have any other ideas?...

Since I'm sure as hell ain't going to pay £400-£600 for a graphics card, just to realize it's not working as it should and just be happy with it lol.

And I literally hate seeing the SLI fingers on the graphics card, it drives me crazy seeing it. Hence why I am quite anal about it... some of you may think it's dumb, silly or think like major facepalm regarding it. By all means, do it. We are all different and we all prefer different things in the end :)

P.S. FYI, I've had my Sapphire Radeon HD6950, since I got it from my school in early 2012. So yeah, I do keep things for some time as well ;)

@Vault-Tec - Yeah I know there are clear blue protectors on, but those just look silly hehe :p...

@TPC - You can?, have a link perhaps?... as I've searched in general on Google, looked on eBay and Amazon and only find SLI bridges.
And I'm not, this cover is just like a "bonus", plus the EVGA GPU is about £40 cheaper, so also that is a reason. But I do like ASUS and have good experience with their products overall, just never experienced their customer support etc.

But not sure if I'm willing to pay those extra £40 just for it to be ASUS, if you get what I mean?...

I saw them some time ago but can't find them anymore, I will keep an eye out for them

This is going round and round in circles.

Buy the evga card its cheap and they can be good with RMA stuff. Find your SLI thing at a later date.

End of thread.

So you're super anal about covering the SLI fingers but you're about to put the wrong cooler from a different card on so that you can pretend you have a Titan X.

No really man I totally get it (not).

Not at all mate... I don't wanna pretend I have a Titan X, why would I do that?.

If I wanted a Titan X, I would buy it lol... I want the cooler from it cause it's black and I don't want to paint the 980Ti.

The good thing is that you don't need to get it mate :)

Err Titan X has Vram chips at the back of the PCB. Doesnt hurt to try though :D

As for the question in the OP, as someone else said. EVGA all the way. Cheaper, good support, support for aftermarket cooling etc etc

EVGA

/thread

( The beauty is, I can actually call an end to the thread, before this gets too hostile ;) )
