Which motherboard should I get?

Hello everyone,

So I've hit a bit of a roadblock and not sure what to get here... I'm even a bit out of my league here, since I'm not really sure how much better X470 really is over B450. I know that X470 generally has better/higher quality components, such as VRM's etc. Which is better for power circuitry etc.

But I'm not really sure how much of a difference that really does in the real world and especially for me, someone who doesn't really overclock at all.
And also keeping in mind that I will use the Dan Case A4 SFX, which is a very small and compact case. So thinking here maybe B450 is better for me?...

One other rather big aspect that I have encountered as of late, on my current ASUS ROG STRIX X470-F Gaming motherboard, is that ASUS AURA literally sucks.
Lately it doesn't open up when doubled clicked on the icon, I just get a pop up saying "ASUS AURA has crashed". In order to get it to work, I need to reinstall the entire software and reboot my PC. Which has gotten rather annoying, and in all honestly I've grown a bit bored/tired of RGB.
Hence why the Gigabyte board also is attractive to me, since it doesn't have any RGB on it. Plus, I'm using an Gigabyte RTX 2080 Windforce III GPU, so it would be just Gigabyte's software for the small amount of RGB. Rather than both ASUS AURA and Gigabytes.

I've already got the ASUS board, with an updated BIOS to support my 3700X. Although due to the mentions above, I'm maybe considering returning it and getting the Gigabyte. Saving some cash in the process as well.

The 2 boards I have in mind are the following:

Gigabyte B450I AORUS PRO WIFI

Many apologies in advance if this was a bit long, but I wanted to get as much of my thoughts and info down for you all, so you have more to go on with your recommendations etc.

Much appreciated for all the help here guys!

Regards,
Dawelio

I'd probably go for the strix, it looks better to me, with a better audio section, a fresh windows install should probably fix the rgb thing.

i have had issues with asus aura on both my boards from time to time , more often on my x99 i normally just remove and put a fresh copy on , as for the boards x470 would probably be better but thats if it fits your needs and more over your case

But that’s just the case here; I don’t know wether X470 would be better for me if it fits my needs over B450 really. I mean, what are the actual and real differences between X470 and B450?.

TTL did a review on b450 i gaming and said is was a cracking itx board , i would say some of your choice comes down to budget , there is only about 30 pounds difference in the uk at the moment and since your running a 3700x might be worth going for the x470 . Also air flow in the Dan case , as i have never owed a small case this is only my take on your situation , it might also be worth going x470 as i think the heat sink on the vrm's is slightly bigger so may help in your situation of a confined case
