Which 670??

Hey guys

After some consensus on what 670 is the one to be going for? The Gigabyte one with all the fans seems popular but its not a brand ive bought before, more use to EVGA Asus etc.

Thanks for any help deciding need to place an order as my 5850 has bit the dust.

Out of interest are these cards vastly more powerful than my 2 year old 5850? I know they will but by what margin?

the gigabyte is supposed to be fantastic. rma will be a breeze since you're in the uk, and besides that the cooling and quietness is supposedly top notch. it's also a non-reference full length pcb so apparently more overclocking headroom

The best performing 670's seem to be the Asus DirectCUii and the Gigabyte Windforce, the Asus is amazingly quiet.

graphics fan noise is the only sound in my pc so a quite one would be nice, but obviously performance > all else

imho CuII always preferred those rather then 3x fans on the gigabyte

yea seems 50/50 on the windforce vs the asus. hard decision!

like the look of the Asus more and the gigabyte dosent fit any colour scheme. though performance wise apparently the WF can oc further and is quieter

Personally i'd go with the Asus because the Gigabyte has a blue PCB which i hate. The Asus comes with an awesome looking backplate too which is great. Performance wise i'd say they're about the same

yea all good points, blue PCB is terrible. but G card fan noise is the only sound my pc makes so the quieter gigabyte is tempting. but yea the asus looks so much better and if i buy the OC version then im sure thatll compete with a OC WF

Oh nice the asus 670 is only dual slot too. For some reason I was thinking it was triple slot like the 680. If I was getting a 670 I would definitly go for the asus one. It's sexy and I've only been hearing good things about thier 600 series cards.

The blue PCB is not bad if your motherboard is blue.

I'm picking up a DCII TOP gtx 670 next week, i've heard many bad things about the gigabyte boards
