Where Did All the Folders Go?

Just spotted this thread...

I've been away from the forums and folding for quite a while :o Its mainly power costs that have stopped me folding recently. I'm trying to scrape a house deposit together and need every cent! Also running my old power hungry system on 35+ degree days here in Australia doesn't really make sense. Were coming in to winter now though and it's starting to get a bit chilly so I can justify starting the old girl back up and write the power use off as heating :P It won't be huge numbers but hopefully it helps :)

The 1080 is calling to me.....they are beasts at folding. Last I checked it gets about 500k-1Million PPD.

Folding doesn't support SLI as in it won't do anything with combining the cards. Back in the day you had to disable SLI to fold, but nowadays SLI is basically ignored. A separate client will work on each card simultaneously.
 
Still Folding here thanks. I started to fold for Redline from May 2016. I'm not using anything Fancy, R9 380x, and few old Intel cpus.

It happened. Had a 6 pack of IPA and pulled the trigger on an EVGA GTX1080 FTW Gaming ACX3.0 (holy crap at that name). It's going to be a loooong weekend waiting.

Nice :cool:, seems like 98860 is getting a nice boost as i've finally got a GTX 1070 sorted out :p
 
I was having some niggles with HFM.NET but that's sorted now so i'll be able to keep a track of WU's & PPD.

One thing i have noticed is no matter what card you own over the years a WU comes along and kills your PPD leaving you like WTF?, for me so far its the Core 18 9162 which chugs along @ 450k on my 1070...i say chugs along, several days ago i was happy with 100-200k lol

Other WU's i've glanced at seem to be from 520-620k so all in all not to shabby. I've done what i wanted to do which was half my power usage but triple my ppd.

I've been looking at returning to the fold (no pun intended). Had to stop a while ago for various reasons but I have always wanted to return to it.

Even had a dedicated rig set up once with 2x XFX 9600 GSO's when they were the best bang for buck (back in the day).

Looking at it today it seems to be a better client, doesn't look like you have to set the flags like you had to do before.
 
Yes, much easier than it used to be. Before you had to babysit everything daily. Now it's more like run it and forget about it for awhile.
 
Well I have started back up again. Probably wont be able to do it as much as before but it's a start.

Even put my stats signature back in :)
