Where can i find one of these?

[SOLVED] Where can i find one of these?

Hello. Im after something similar to this...

...Which has a SATA (data + power) male one side, and a SATA (data + power) female on the other. I'm not a fan of the ones that have a length of cable attached.

I want these so i can make my own hot swap bays. If anyone can help in any way, that would be cool :)

Cheers,
Chris.

Any suggestions?
Just a link to a place that might sell them would be useful.

Sorry if this is the wrong section.

Cheers,
Chris.

so you want a sata male to female that is as short as the one on picture?

does it have to be sata to msata?

and also why not just buy THAT male to female with a cable lenght instead of adding an adapter at the end of the 2 separate sata and 7pin power

Thanks for the reply, however i think either i don't understand you or you don't understand me. I'll try to explain better...

What i want to do is make my own hot swap bays. What i want is a male to female "block" that has power and data. The idea is the block would be glued/mounted into the bay system i'm making, allowing the drives to be slid in and out. Then the normal SATA cables from my controller and power supply would plug into the "block"

I hope that makes sense?

I could just buy something ready made, but there isn't one that ticks all of the boxes and it's no fun that way.

Cheers,
Chris

yeah, i guess i worded it kinda vaguely.

i found the thing that you want btw:
EDIT: UK seller link

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SATA-22Pin-7-15-Pin-Male-Plug-to-SATA-22Pin-7-15P-Female-Jack-Convertor-Adapter-/370689912666?pt=UK_Computing_Drive_Cables_Adapters&hash=item564ed72f5a

anyways what i proposed was to just take the cheap 22pin sata(sata and power) and just "glue" to the hot bays that you wanted to make, seems easier then getting the adapter in my opinion.

so you have on one end the sata power 7pin from psu and sata to the mobo and on the other you would have your swap able bay.

hope that makes sense.

Thanks dude that's exactly what i'm after!

Yes what you're suggesting is what i thought of initially, but my SATA controller is mini SAS to 4 SATA breakout. So having the SATA cable virtually plugging into the back of the drive i think is the best option for cable management and aesthetics

Cheers again fella!
Chris.

anytime matey, I never included controller into my equation :3 that would make a lot more sense, good luck
