In my experience asus make the best stock boards (ie rock solid at stock) where as dfi make the best clocking boards.

Best board for AMD i had was the Abit NF7-S with the nforce2 ultra 400. Also my first board on which I started Vmodding :D.

I guess you still can't go wrong with an Abit board these days....

Best

I started building my own systems with MSI K7N2-L (3) then progressed to Abit NF7-S V 2.0 (4)then Asus A8N5X.(1), all of which are still running, The MSI are now about 6 years old. Ther Abits are 3 and 4 years old and my Asus is a year old.

It pays to read and build your own. My favorite P/S are Enermax. at least 400 watts.

I have built systems for my family and friends and never have gone bad with and that I learned about and used. Old school Abit is rock solid O/Cr, MSI is passable and Asus is current King.

Only board ive owned was DFI except one. I somehow fried my old nF2 ultra-B and had to go to an Albatron nF2 ultra-400. THat board was better than my DFI and was cheaper by about 30 bucks. It was also better than my friends NF7-S. Other than that, DFI FTW. Never going to another board dealer.

Yeah, the Albatron nF2 ultra-400 is a nice mobo, but the Abit NF7-S was my favorite at that time...;)

Idk, i got my 2600+ further up than my friend with the same chip and the NF7-S. Idk, i liked it cause i only paid 105 for the chip and board. Still solid :)

105 is quite good for their price (CPU+mobo) at that time...

And yeah, this mobo was ROCK SOLID and enabled (and still enables, for those who still own it...;) ) GREAT overclocking!!! :yumyum:
