If you were going to use just a single 120mm or 140mm rad, don't consider a custom loop, get an all in one cooler. Custom loops come into their own when you need much more rad space, and you want to cool more than just your CPU; but that comes at a price.

What everyone else said. Also, what no one mentioned yet is that once you get the water bug by doing a custom loop, you WILL want to include the GPU eventually, which means you need 240 at a minimum, and 360+ if you want any sort of acceptable noise levels from fans.
For *just* the CPU, yes. I was implying that 240 was the minimum for CPU + GPU.maybe but a cpu surely 240 is a bit of anover kill for 1-2 degress cooler
Giving a minor example, locally an H110 (280mm rad) cost me 115 euro, a custom loop with a D5, a raystorm and a 240mm rad would cost about 350ish....
