What is a computer?

My (non clever) friend has asked me this question: "what is a computer?"

Although this appears to be a fairly easy question, lots of people have given me different answers.

What do you think?

IIRC, multiple personalities hasn't got anything to do with Schizophrenic conditions. Having multiple personalities is a separate disorder, and thinking that it's linked to Schizophrenia is a common misconception.

Anyway, advancedkill, make some new friends, better yet, lock your computer when you leave it...

A computer is anything that can compute calculations.
