This is a serious warning

DHL do not compensate if you use them to send computer parts or computers.

If they drop , smash or brake any thing to do with computer they will not compnestae you.

you have been warned.

I sent the pahse through them and i am having a massive battel with them atm as they are saying its a computer parts were infact it is not. There rules starte they dont compnestae for any computer part or computers.

How ever after seeking legal advise and starting a claim agasint them ithrough the courts they are considering the clain becuase they drop the parcel from a hight.

Ill let you know how it goes but from now on never use DHL to send any thing releiasted to computers.

Duuuuuuude...i dont think any claim whatsoever can cover the loss of that unit, she was a beaut.

Ive had a few issues with other companies in the past and they have some horrible clause....

I think we should have a thread in FS&W about which companies cover what and which are the best. Im not doing it though, way too much research for me. ha ha...

Hope it all works out for you dude....

Had some serious trouble in the past with DHL with a computer i shipped for a buyer on ebay, the computer on retreval looked like it had been dropped on its front top corner and the whole chassis of the case (antec 300) was completly warped and just not right, the hard drives in the HDD bays had completely slipped and the hard drives where hitting the fans, suprisingly the massive thors hammer heatsink and cpu was still in-tact due to massive amounts of bubble wrap

DHL refused any kinda of refunding even though the computer was insured for well over £600, so a replacement antec 300 came out of my pocket, luckily nothing else was damaged.

dodged a bullet i guess :D.

Well this is were they havent covered there asses . all though they say its a computer it isnt. its just used for computers. big diffrence.

Ive allready started a claim through the courts its just not actioned. Any how after 15 emails back and forth they are accepting the claim now (weather i get it or not is another matter). if how ever they fail to pay up i will take them to court as there rules do not cover a "Phase". They can kiss my ass if they think there getting away with it.

The way it was packed for sending is perfect as it was triplle boxed at the bottem , double boxed at the sides, tripple boxed at the top and allso filling to stop any moving parts. Photos were taken before delivery. Deilvery guy was told it was heavy and to be carfull, warning stickers were all over the box. They accpet the parcel, they accpeted the insurance so there for they will pay up.

Or my foot goes up there ass via the courts.

I wont be messed arround by any compnay like this no matter how big they think they are.

cheers for the heads up mate ill remember that for the future as ive had ppl askin me to send them computer parts through parcel2go and the cheapest is usually DHL, hope everything gets sorted out dude and whats with all these companies these days stopping insuring computer parts and tft's and hdtv's if they were just careful with how they handle it then it shouldnt really be a problem, did you see that royal mail thing that was on the other week? see how the dude was just throwing the boxes on the floor even when they were marked as fragile and that :| i bet those ppl in that video have more than likely been sacked

Pretty much every major delivery company will exclude PC, TV and audio equipment from their list of compensation covered items. It sucks balls, but you can see where they're coming from given how easily these kind of items are damaged (though thats no excuse if the courier men have been playing football with the boxes).

Bit biased topic, can see this causing trouble for OC3D. Opinions are opinions of course, but I wouldn't be happy with someone saying not to use my company because of 1 or 2 mistakes.

Trouble for OC3D? This is a public forum dude, by definition opinions posted are those of the poster only.

This is the reason we don't have a company review section. I'm just saying what I would feel.

I dont see it as a problem more of a warning. as in your ass is not coverd if you dont read carefully the small print. But as for DHL .. well playing footy with a 28 Kg Object and not bother reading the warnings all over the box saying havey item, dont not drop, fragile, ect ect ... begs me to question why the hell drop it from a grate hight ...

Did they know they did it. well i think so, esp when the delivery guy left the parcel in a garage and ran off after ringing the cusomer door bell and them not signing for it ...

and if it had happend at my home i would have had it all on camra like i did in the past.

Luckily I never had any bad problems with DHL, but thanks for the heads up, I for one won't be sending anything via DHL anymore.

Small update after lots of aguing theve put a claim in for the parcel but ive told them waterh they like it or not they accepted the parcel. they took payment for the insrance , the played footy with it. its there responsablity and if they dont pay up then i will take them to court over it and i will win .. after all they signed for it in the first place taking resposabilty for it.

i thought huge companies are suppose to be wise and choose the logical route to solve problems? obviously im wrong, go get em mayhem!

ll update a cheque arrived from them this morning. They payed up for the damage they caused to the item i sent though the post but it was a bit of a fight and threats to take them to court. It wasn't that much but enough for the repair of the item that they destroyed.

But again be warned when sending computer parts and insuring them via any carrier. Seems to me a hell of a lot of them dont cover for computer parts.

And just to top it off walked past a DHL van this morning and saw the delivery guy just chucking parcels all over his van and kicking the parcels. So so again avoid using DHL .... They have NO respect for your gear ...

Oh and this is no joke on a email from them when i complained how log it was taking it said.

"Im sorry about the delay we have a lot of claims in at the moment and i will process you as soon as it comes though" . seems to me that's prof alone that there service sucks.

oops! i just traded my 4850 this week and used DHL to deliver it but it got there on 1 piece and i made sure even if they kicked it about it wasnt gettin damaged it was in between 4" of foam and the guy i traded it to never mentioned the box being dinged or that
