Wanting a new card!

Hey. I currently have a GeForce 6600 and it gets the job done quite well with most games, though some it does struggle with. So I am wanting to upgrade to a better card, though I don't really know much in the way of graphics cards... I was hoping someone could give me a little advice?

Basically I'm after a cheap-ish card that would to able to run games such as Serious Sam 2, Tomb Raider Anniversary and Oblivion to their fullest graphical settings. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Id say a 8600GT/S. Around £100 you can get an excellent midrange card.

befor you commit make sure that u are using pci-e and not agp otherwise the 8600 wont be compatible

I am no ATI fan boy, infact I prefer Nvidia but I have read similar posts to this alot and people have been saying go for a X1900 series card over the 8600 series.

Supposed to be alot more value for money and in a similar price range.

That is if you dont want DX10
