You think its uncommon for a school to spend that much money. ESPECIALLY one such as DeVry!? DeVry is still in the middle of a transition from selling there old stuff for new. This is nothing new. 10000 for new equipment is not even pocket change for them.

I have never heard of Devry, mainly as i am from the UK. Sounds to me like this amazing school / university is clearly misinformed as surely it would be more beneficial in buying several Quaddro or Tesla cards opposed to 30 high end gaming cards for rendering purposes. The saying more money than sense comes into mind.

They needed it for 30 rendering computers. which means they would need 30 Quadro cards. which would be 10x more most likely. BTW this was for 2 campuses. 15 machines at each.

Well my VTX3D 6970 is working sweet after some modifications.

My friend bought an MSI 560ti hawk should have it today looks to be a good card too.
